Re: Clutch problem
Hi, thanks for all input. I started checking the footwell in front, nothing there. Then I checked the slave. It was normal and dry on the outside but when I squeezed the rubber boot some fluid came out. When I loosened it even more fluid came out. So I removed the slave and took a look inside and it...

Clutch problem
Hi, Just tried to go for a ride, first one this year. But the clutch pedal went right to the bottom without any resistance. Checked reservoar level, a litle low but not empty. Tried to look for leaks but the slave seems dry outside and no visible leaks on the master cylinder. The car has been pushed...

Door window alignment problem
Hi, I'm mounting windows and canopy on a 1.5 OTS series. But I have some problems with the distance to the window in the corner between the top of the window and the rear of the window on both sides. In the corner the window will not reach/touch the rubber. It seems like the diameter of the edge is ...

Re: Best electronic ignition
How does EDIS/Megajolt compare to Lumention and 123 (except for the part that EDIT/Megajolt is more DIY kind of setup) ?

Underfelt fitment
Hi, I have a series 1,5 and I am in the process of fitting new underfelt. But I am not sure if the parts are correct: The bits covering the gearbox tunnel are not symmetrically at right side and left side. Is this correct? And why? The tunnel seems pretty symmetrically to me: http://i1166.photobucke...

How much can I hone my clutch slave cylinder?
Hi, My clutch slave cylinder was leaking and I discovered there was a little rust inside. I chemically dipped the cylinder to remove the rust and now I am honing the cylinder to get a smooth surface. But how much can I hone before it will start to leak? I did not measure the diameter before I starte...

lookin' good, Jon! Your seat backs appear to be pretty high. Are you sure that you will be able to raise the hood over them once you have finished? Thank you Mark. The MX5 seats is going to be removed when the original seats are restored. The original seats id dismantled now and I hope they will be...

A little update from Norway; The project is going further. Bumpers and lights are almost finished. Just before the winter came I took the car to the norwegian PKK (as the MOT in GB) to see if the technical was ok. I got some faults, but none seriously. So now I have a short list of things I have to ...

I guess the best solution will be to replace the floors :( To replace the floors, what needs to be removed? Exhaust? And the IRS? In order to avoid distortions in the body, it is best to replace the front and rear part of the floor separately to avoid large open areas that weaken the strength of the...

Replacing or repairing the floors
Hi, I bought a nearly fully restored 1968 OTS where PO said the rust was removed. It was only a partial truth. When I removed the paint and seam sealer I discovered a floor repair I need to do again. Left side looks okay, but the right side is not so good. Heavy use of pop rivets and little welding....

Soundproofing
Hi, I have just bought a complete interior trim kit from BAS including ??? underfelt. My floors is renovated and are just painted steel now. I was thinking of putting on some bitumen 3mm self-adhesive mats for soundproofing. Is this wise or should I use anything else instead or in addition? In hotte...
