Armrest bolts

A "small" question! I have to acquire bolts for the armrests in my 1968 series 1.5 2+2. I can purchase them from Moss Motors at 1.99 each, but the postage to New Zealand is 18.99. I'll pay that high postage cost if I have to but I could certainly purchase them locally if I knew the dimensions - but ...

Wilwood brake upgrade

I am planning to upgrade the front brakes on my 1968 2+2 with a Wilwood package from XKS. I'd be grateful if someone could let me know whether the existing master cylinder will still be adequate or whether it also requires any change or upgrade. Many thanks, Graham.

Running in rebuilt engine

I have a 1968 series 1.5, 4.2l and have just collected it after an engine rebuild. Reconditioner has given practical instructions - no labouring, avoid prolonged idling, drive normally and avoid being too gentle etc. I can follow that OK, but I wondered whether those with experience would have more ...

Replacement wheels

Hi, I am intending to replace the rather tatty 5 1/2" wheels (205 tyres) on my 1968 Series 1.5, and would appreciate some advice. Having researched the many other posts, I have finally decided to revert to the original 5" wheels with 185 15 tyres and now need to settle on the manufacturer and style....

I'm out of the country at present, but will check that option when I return.

Radio mounting

I have a May ?68 1.5 2+2 and am about to update the radio and tidy the parcel shelf area. As the photo shows, the current radio mounting is a bit of a mess and does not look original. My ash tray is on the console and the lighter is on the dash so I assume that the radio surround was a simple affair...

Thanks to you both. I suspect you are correct, now that I have a closer look - so time to start tracing.

Unidentified switch

I'd be grateful if someone could help me identify the function of the switch to the left of the brake warning light. I suspect "Hazard Light" but currently it is dormant.

Thanks

Graham

Hi All,

Have just purchased a S1.5 2+2 and joined the forum.

If there is anyone in the Wellington, NZ area who can suggest a good firm for regular servicing, WOF checks and associated general maintenance, I'd appreciate your advice.

Regards

Graham
