Re: Body jig

Ask around old skool bodyshops if they can do a DROP CHECK on your car.this will give a very precise measurement .not many people even know what it is or how to do it. :Scotland:

Re: Mig welder advice

I bought a froniues mig welder new 20 years ago to restore a 356 cabriolet and it still works perfectly.the cheaper machines are mostly throw away junk especially for beginners they will keep blowing fuses and eventually melt the torch and relays.spend a wee bit more and keep it longer !

It all boils down to how much do you want to spend however that does not excuse the poor quality that seems to be the norm.

Re: Original mild steel exhaust

i viewed the jaguar classic system at the NEC and thought it was very poor quality the very polite salesperson informed me they were made in Manchester by TMA who are a big supplier to the car and commercial market. What you get is probably quite near what was originally on the car so you get what y...

Re: Silencers

The larger pipe is the inlet (front) which allows the link pipe to slot inside the silencer.

The smaller pipe (rear) should have the outside dia the same as the inside dia of the front assuming they have used the same tube, one end is expanded.
Hope this helps. :Scotland:

The only problem you might encounter would be if the car did not drive onto the transporter they would have to use a tr...
