Re: Malpassi FPR004 Failure Issue
I'm positive that the adjusting screw hasn't been messed with. I set it to 3psi in 2015 and it hasn't been touched since, but something caused it to fall apart? Since It has to be removed to repair I think I will just reinstall the stock filter bowl. Less chance of failure on the road. Thanks for yo...

Malpassi FPR004 Failure Issue
Hello, Car has been up for a while so I thought it best to check under the bonnet for leaks and listen for bad sounds after starting. That's when I just happened to notice the fuel bowl was almost empty! For safety's sake I nursed it back in the garage and started looking around. 1) Fuel pump? After...

Re: For those moments when we dream we have actually got a lottery win to spend....
Great video. If I did have a lottery win to spend, I probably would spend it here. In the meantime, I need to remove and replace the gasket under my filler cover to align "Jaguar" laterally rather than longitudinally. https://i.postimg.cc/rptvbTYN/Selection-112.png Wonder what else I got wrong? :shr...

Re: Gunson Gas Tester
I purchased and used a Gastetster a couple of months ago. Dummy me, I still had trouble determining what the middle carb was doing so I added a Colortune. With the Colortune, I could be confident the center carb was close then focus mostly on the front/rear carb to get the Gastester results around 5...

Allen, I strongly suggest that you check in to the Jag-lovers forum https://forums.jag-lovers.com/c/e-type where you will find dozens of enthusiasts near you many of which are very willing to contribute their time and expertise to help out the less informed, like you and me. Hey Doug,
I'm not in London but I am in Birmingham (Alabama that is). Check in with me, if you're ever down my way. My wife and I would be happy to meet you and yours for a few pints!
Craig

Re: Quick Release Steering Wheel
Now Craig, when do I get my apology for your snide, mean spirited, uninformed asinine, brainless remark ? I guess I should not hold my breath. LOL I'm sorry John. I didn't offer one and I'm not offering one now. It is remarkably regrettable, the tone of most all of your posts. Here and on the JL si...

I might be mistaken, but I think that is a pic from several years ago of a J-L lister. I think Terry Lippincott fixed it.

I understand this has happened so I placed the prop in the tunnel months before installing the engine. The prop needs to be stored somewhere.Series1 Stu wrote:you'd be pretty miffed if you got your engine and box fitted and the car down on it's wheels just to realise that the prop wasn't fitted!

Back in the day, before cell phones, my Dad had a CB radio for emergencies. The antenna base was mounted on the rear AMCO bar and looked very much like that.

Re: 1968 Series 1.5 parts catalogue
...Series 1.5 FHC is there one specific for this series if not would I be better off going for a 1 or 2 catalogue. Here is how I understand it. You start with the "Spare Parts Catalogue" i.e. Publication NO. J.37, then add to that the "Interim Parts List For 1968 Jaguar...." (IPL) and you are prett...

Re: Gear knob thread size
Another option: Cut the lever about 1 inch and re-thread. I didn't have the thread problem but a knowledgeable person suggested that to me. It gives the gearbox a really nice short throw through the gears.wilkinsi wrote: I tend to generally prefer to restore rather than replace but in this case.....
Re: Su carbs
Hi John, I had no issue with clearance while installing my triple SU manifold/carb assembly on my 1968 series 1 1/2. However, I do have new motor mounts. If your mounts are old and/or sagging it might cause your clearance issues. Also, if your engine is sitting low and you don't have enough clearanc...
