Re: Road light switch

All the E-types l have seen have the OSH switch and escutchon. But on my S1 l have fitted the OSHF switch and escutchon taken off an MK2, because l wanted to fit a rear fog light. Have opted for Marek's reverse light which illuminates white for reverse and strong red for fog. Underneath the escutcho...

Carsten, sorry for you, when it is such a bad mechanical week it is preferable to take a deep breath and stop any wrenching for the week-end and get busy with something totally different :drinkingcheers:

Re: Torque figure - Radius Arm Bolt

My advice would be to tighten to 30 lb, then take the car for a drive on a bumpy and twisty road, then retighten again and lock-wire.

Re: Car jacking

I have opted for this Porsche 928 jack, very compact and sturdy. Tried it few times and it will lift the E without any sweating. https://i.postim...

Re: Intermittent rev counter

John, check the fuses on the fuse block.
The same fuse that feeds the rev counter feeds as well the rear stop lamps and the radiator fan.
With some corrosion on the fuse contacts, when these heat up they could disconnect for a short while until cooled down.
I had the same happening...

Re: '64 3.8 Bonnet fitment

I have been lucky in obtaining a good fitment in a fairly limited number of attempts by following the procedure described by 288gto here above, and I was alone. However, I removed first the rubber landing seal and used a strip of a soft insulating foam. Once I was happy with the fitment, the rubber ...

Re: Seat rail availability or seat options for 63 Coupe

The best option is to sell these seats, then either get originals or MX5.
I have a pair of originals, let me know if of interest.
