Re: Sun visor slipping down
Sorry to recover an old post but I think could help some me included. My passenger sun visor doesnt stay where it should and is a small PITA. I’ve just read about the solution included in this thread but I’m concerned about breaking the tube metal or the holders. Can it be done with the visor in pla...

Re: Help S2 Manual gearbox problem.SOLVED
I forgot to post what happened in the end!
It was just the routing of the stick. Depending how you throw it it will engage or not possibly due to some little missalignment on the shifting drives below the stick.
Now that i know, it always works

Re: Help S2 Manual gearbox problem
It sounds like either selector fork or possibly synchromesh problem to me, either of which are probably only going to be fixable by rebuilding the gearbox. Before you do this though change your oil to Redline MT 90. Many of us use it in our all synchro boxes. It might help. Thanks abowie, I’ll try ...

Maybe the clutch is dragging a little and your push-rod needs extending?
I’d say yes, it does disengage fully, otherwise i’d have problems in other gears as well and/or clutch slippage, which i dont have either. Just my guess

Help S2 Manual gearbox problem
I’m tyding up my 1969 S2, water circuit already done and front suspension refurbishment shortly on the way. Meanwhile I’m having some problems with the gearbox for which I need your help. Third gear cannot be engaged from time to time and when this happens i cannot alternatively go into 4th nor seco...

Tyre advise
I’ll be refreshing my front suspension shortly. While I’m there i might as well change tyres, they are getting old and also are 215/65/15, far too big for my original chromies. I’m thinking on going back to original 185/80/15 or 195/80/15 which being slightly fatter will brake even better and being ...

Re: Front suspension creaks&clunks
Txs for all responses, they are all very clear!
I’m buying SNGBarratt front suspension kit, seems to have everything I need. I’ve chosen rubber bushes rather than poly, from what I’ve read they are better for the e type.
Any experience with a.m. kit?

Front suspension creaks&clunks
My E type SII FHC is demanding attention to her front suspension! She goes very well at speed on nice paved roads but going slowly it creaks and clunks over any imperfection. I’m assuming that it could be repiared by replacing wishbone, antiroll bar and drop link bushes. Is there anything else I sho...

My first miles in the E type
I’ve just picked my 69 FHC S2 and returned home after some 400 motorway miles. My first impressions are VERY GOOD, it is so smoth for a 49 years old, it just glides down the road! My car has air conditioning so i didnt experience any heat. Looking ahead over that bonnet is so... bloody fantastic. It...

New car, Where to start?
I’ve just closed the purchase of an 1969 E type series II on strombergs. The car is not concours but very honest, good running and properly maintained with back up invoices over the last 30 years. My plans are to keep it for good weather weekends’ and may be a couple of longer trips a year. It has t...

Hello e-type lovers, I'm in the process of acquiring and e-cat and would very much appreciate your help in my quest! Been into classic cars for a few years and have owned various mercedes, a triumph tr6, porsche 3.2, but this will be, hopefully, my first cat. Thinking on a S2 coupe as a more afordab...
