Any further plans to maybe make this happen on the weekend of Oct. 5 -7? I´m planning to be in the region on that weekend.

Geoff welcome to the forum! You have come to a great place! My car is US1970 S2 OTS lhd with AC and PS. Here a small shematic as seen from the front. The belts noted in the shematic are the american ones fitted when the car came. The second picture is recent when I changed the belts last week. The n...

As politeperson stated: You might check the rear end. Depending on year and gearbox, US models had different differential ratios than row cars. Not a small thing because once in there, and the IRS is in/out, you’ll want to take care of all the other IRS-issues. And with the lighting, Marekh can help...

Once you start workarounds things can get really messy if indeed something was to happen. As long as the seller goes along with it, at least you would be covered.

Phil, have you recently had an oil change in the differential? The limited slip differential is sensitive to the correct oil being used. Wrong oil might cause the stated symptoms under your stated circumstances. Oil change and heartedly driving 8‘s to get the new oil well in would be my advice, befo...
Alan, adjustment should work fine, once you remove the tunnel cover. Be prepared to use WD40 or the like to maybe free up the mechanism. Pat, (?) I believe that simple metal bracket is available, I don‘t recall where though. Here the measurements I took, should be simple enough to make up. The rubber grommets are the same as the tank filler lid grommets. The spring latch you mean the one in front or the hold-down bracket in the back?...
I´ve installed aftermarket engine mounts, an aftermarket stabilizer and the rubbers for the gearbox mount. Loading the engine in 3rd, the knob goes aft/forward. Is this inherent to the gearbox or are my mounts lousy? No big deal, since I´m happy to have a driving E-type. And yes, plenty of other to-...
John, I agree with Stuart - enjoy your car as it is! Efforts of therapy weigh heavier than those of examination, so don‘t dig in :hammerdrill: too deep. :) To answer your question: As mentioned there are holes in the inner sill. The grommets under the bonnet pin receiving brackets give access to the...

curl around the end of the bumper and be cut off more or less level with the bumper' I believe Simon is right. I think to remember carefully taking a detailed picture before disassembly but 1 hour picsearch turns up nothing. The rubber was pulled around the bend and cut or reduced or spliced on the...

Chris, welcome to the forum! This is the forum in all things E, anything you can think of regarding these cars, chances are good someone here is able to answer. A big help in gaining oversight of the model history, get the small (and to cheap) book „The Essential Buyer’s Guide“ from Peter Crespin. F...
