Re: S1 ignition wire conduit

Rob, Me thinks the S1 with the short bolts is a non nissue. „If“ loosening the nut brings the bolt along, just reset and torque. The longer bolts of the S2 engine go through water, if the bolt would release together with the nut, water (and potentially crud) might fall in the thread opening and proh...

Re: S2 and S3 seat covers

Which colour needed? I might have the (black?) remnants you are welcome to have, if it suits your needs. I aggree on the more embossed design, rather than being fully pentrated. https://i.postimg.cc/3xqmSZRh/866-ABDD9-CA65-4-C23-8-B28-56-F3167-A1-F7-B.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/cJ8YV8gn/AFFC0-FC3-272-...

Re: jaguar etype 4.2 gearbox issue

Hi Jeff and welcome to the forum!

Tell us more about your car, is this a new problem whilst driving regularly, or after having work done on the car? I second Steve‘s assessment and would first check clutch hydraulics and setting of the slave cylinder.

Right around @0.15 - 0.17 your bonnet seems to be rattling in tune with the noise? Are your bonnet fasteners tight?

Re: Acoustic Cameras

There exist noise cameras imposing a graphical feature (similar to the heat sensitive pictures everbody is familiar with). The local Test Expo for all things Automotive measuring had them on display. You can point at say a group of people and see who is talking, and how loud. Similar, you can point ...

I‘ve never heard the 11mm in regard to E-Type Strombergs, 16-17 is the correct height.

Re: Camshaft bearing failure 4.2

Thank you for the replies. The crater does look more like corrosion. I‘ll have alignment checked and order new bearings. Also check oil feed lines. I‘ve taken out the inlet camshaft, no funny marks on that side. Once the bottom is open the main bearings will have to checked as well.

Camshaft bearing failure 4.2

What could have caused the bearings to look like this? https://i.postimg.cc/yx4Mb2tR/76-A7-FA82-E6-D8-4-C47-A256-6-F94-E71-D6051.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/d0Dck2Gh/D81-C24-CE-0480-4-CD8-8399-A83-B1-DEC0022.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/vmjFW4v3/F8-E46596-D6-A7-47-B5-B76-A-C330-E3-B9-D3-E8.jpg I have aquir...

Re: Adhesive number plate

There exists a note of how far up from the air intake the plate should sit. You might want to check for that measurement before fixing it in place. I couldn‘t pull it up just now. If I find it I‘ll post it.

BBC on Classic Car Industry

Just came across a BBC article on classic car business. Might be of interest for one or the other:

What a great plan for initiating such a group. A shame some some have nothing more positive to share. Whilst some are willing to add time and effort to better things, would others not so inclined just refrain from bashing in this thread especially and the forum in general.
