Sun visors for series 3 2+2

I have removed the sunvisors--as they were rather tatty and leaking foam dust! My sunvisors are in poor condition -- on one of them the internals are corroded to the extent that it had seized and the wire frame has snapped... ( previous owner!). Is there availability of complete series 3 items with ...

Do also have a look here: http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?t=3838 I too was initially seduced by the look of the things-and the thought of punting in more fuel ==> would give more bhp and consequent ooommmphhh! Not so it seems! -but the helpful chaps here explained it chapter and verse. Hope i...

Hi Bill apologies for missing your query until now ... Actually my car was already a manual-- just the standard 4 speed manual. I wanted more "go" low down and a quieter ,lower reving cruise, ergo the use of a lower diff ratio to get more effortless squirt low down off the lights and compensating fo...

Apologies--I had overlooked the answers.... @ Alty Ian "That sounds great, I assume they replaced the clutch plate, cover and bearing as well. Do you feel that the shorter diff ratio was really needed as it appears to me the difference from standard is very small." They did indeed and the lig...

Happy New Year all... Well-- I gon-an-dun it!-- or more accurately-- I had it done... by Derek Watson :@ WATJAG Ltd in Derbyshire. The car now runs a with a shorter diff ratio -coupled to a new five speed gearbox which has a tall .63 fifth hear ratio. It has also had the clutch mechanism modified to...

Thank you for all your expertise and positive and encouraging input-- PHEW !! I took a shortcut -- rather than rely on experimentation with my own inexpert spannering.... V12 oil pressure concern...?

Hello all Enjoying the E-type-- and its all running sweet and lovely and smooth. Oil pressure has been very healthy hitherto --around 80 psi indicated on gauge @ 3000 and much the same lower down as I recall.... Went for a small drive this evening ( beer fetching--the long way round) anyhow--the oil...

after a drive with the aid of a GPS (which seems to establish that the speedo is over- reading about 3%) it seems to confirm that the car is fitted with the 3.31:1 diff. My chum did some maths for me. Seems like 2024 revs with 3.54 diff and .64 5th will get us 70 mph. This --coupled with the overall...

Having ummed and ahhd about for a month or so .. ( whilst thoroughly enjoying my E-type driving! ) does the following seem reasonable> 1) install 5 speed box fitted with tall .065 ratio rather than .75 2) Install a shorter ratio diff ( late US ratio--as used to keep up performance low down when the ...

Five speed gearbox for E-type-- which one?

Good evening gents! ( and ladies..?). Living with the car ... I am now rather liking the V12 experience ! ( after a few initial doubts s about its low down pulling power ): http://www.etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3838 However... the relatively high 1:1 rpm at motorway speeds (and above!) ( mode...

S3 body repair sections--which one...?

My E-type is currently at the bodyshop having the paint removed as expected the usual suspects have been revealed lower edges of bonnet (though the arches are perfect). Rear wheel arches ( back ends only) and a bit of pitting on lower door edges. Aside from that the body is all metal and appears not...

Pass - I think they came from a broken SDI Vitesse engine. As said, it was done at arms length for me and it was 12 years ago (and less than 4000 miles since!!! Sorry I can not be more helpful but I am merely the end-user.

Brmmm!!!

Thank you for a most interesting and edifying discussion! The fuel injected route is one I had also considered--and whilst I certainly do have an interest in fuel economy ( everyone who owns a V12 has! :D ) my primary pursuit was a low-down performance gain rather than economy. I am particularly int...

Indeed--you are of course right--there are a lot of bits of metal whizzing up and down--that what t I meant as the engine being "plenty busy" !--so many moving parts! Thank you for your response and thoughts Petercrespin! This is exactly what I wanted concrete thought! I should have mentioned that myV12 'E' is manual. I probably would not want to lower the axle ratio as such - the engine seems plenty 'busy' as it is... So with the 6 x twin Weber set-up at w...

S3 V12 weber six pack carburettor set-up--any views?

Good evening all - recently joined, have V12 E. Love the car, smooth, sweet, et al. However I have perhaps been spoilt a bit as I also have an MGB GT with a 4.6l V8, lashings of torque - small car = big engine. E-type low down appears to be able to not match the torque or accelerative performance of...
