Differential
We have a series 2 E-type with a US 3.54 differential. I can get a 3.07 diff from a guy who bought it in a whole lot of Jaguar parts. It is an IRS type differential, but unknown from which car it comes. Can I safely buy this and be sure that it fits our E? If there are specific things to look at, pl...

Remove of rear door release knob
I am doing a respray and new interior on my S2 2+2. It is the first E-type I am working on, but so far everything is pretty straight forward. One thing keeps me busy and that is the removal of the rear door release on the RH rear panel. There must some trick for it, I have searched the forum, but do...
Maikel, If you look at XKEdata and you select the 35 cars before and the 35 after yours, it seems that you must have one of the first with uncovered headlights. Most cars on XKE data after yours are with uncovered head lights. I know there may have been a lot of modifications over the years, but the...

New Series 2 on the Forum
After several posts on previous cars I was looking for I thought it was better to make a proper new introduction with the car I have finally bought. It is a 1969 Series 2 in black with red interior. It's been a low milage family owned for all its life, fairly good rust free condition, due to being f...

I wanted to update on the '68 series 1.5 car for sale in Toronto Canada. This car is a kind of weird car built up from all kinds of E-types. The entire front frame including an incorrect VIN number came from an OTS. 1R8838 was the VIN number on the picture frame but it should have been 1E78856BW. No...

I would never ever purchase a car unseen, I have a couple more classic cars and I know this is very tricky. I will be in Toronto where the car is next Friday, so I can touch it, knock on the panels and probably even drive it. The price is in CAD and the shipment incl. duties and insurance are around...

I do not have more pictures of the bonnet than the ones posted. The car seems a bit of bitza, with a replaced front frame, S2 parts, also the car is originally automatic, now converted to manual. The car number is 1E78856BW I do not have an engine number, nor do I know if the original engine is in t...

I will upload the pictures I have to photobucket. If you click the picture you will have access the the entire library. The front subframe seems galvanized or some similar finish, it is definitely not pained. According the the current owner the car has been restored some 25 years ago, and had a repa...

I have read again in the JCNA files and found out that the S2 bonnet was limited by a gas filled operating strut. On one of the pictures I have received from the car this strut is visible. So it seems more S2 parts have been used. http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz275/Knarf237/image_zps2b2ee1fc.j...

So my assumption this is a S2 bonnet is correct! Probably the original front got damaged at some point in time. I will put some extra attention to any damaged parts under the bonnet Generally the car serves my demands, drivable but not concours, 3x SU, manual gear and a rear seat space to bring our ...

I have already covered all these pages from JCNA, but please check the pictures and you will see what I mean. As mentioned in my first post, I am doubting if the opening in the bonnet is the correct dimension. In the JCNA files nothing is written about the size of the opening, just small or big. I a...

S2 bonnet on S1.5 car?
Hello my name is Frank Molleman, I live in the Netherlands, and I am busy finding my first E-Type. I am learning details each day, but still lack some of the knowledge to fully justify the correctness of the S1.5 2+2 on the images below. I am in the process of purchasing this car and I have some dou...
