Drew - is Thame, Oxon, too far? Birks Motorworks have always been good for me.

Re: Changing map location

Steve / Mark - did you mean the actual map - rather than the location? I think I remember when I loaded my map location originally I was supposed to note a code which represented the pinpoint.... and would then be able to alter it. But of course, I didn't note it, or lost the note, or whatever..... ...

Re: Anyone know a mobile mechanic near me?

Paul - nice to hear of someone else close by..... I have used Birks in Thame for a number of years both for the E-Type and a Mk 2. I am a satisfied customer - but unless he know you well, I fear Graham is unlikely to travel to you. He might be persuaded, of course - so use your best patter - he is v...

Re: Face Panel

Dale - if you have removed the two thumbscrews from the instrument panel in the dash, you are almost certainly going to need to remove the screws which hold the "legend strip" - the plastic trim which tells you which switch does what - before trying to rotate the instrument panel forwards and down. ...

Can I echo others in saying thanks for all the hard work, David. I too, was like a bear with a sore head or as others have said a teenager sans mobile 'phone without the forum. Keep up the good work - it is much appreciated.

Re: Which tracker device?

Malcolm - I can only say that Tracker themselves ( http://www.tracker.co.uk/faqs/) cover the parts of Europe you mention as standard and have a pretty good success rate in the UK, I believe. They have (or had) a one price/lifetime plan at one stage - and I know that they send service engineers out t...

Re: 3rd brake light

Not thoroughly germaine to your question - have done it to my Series 1 Roadster for much the same reason as you - lights are just too low, especially in traffic, and feel much more comfortable in traffic as the brakelight is much more in the eyeline of following drivers.

Re: accident damage repairs / restorers

Grant - a little way from you, but I have used these guys twice before on classics - but not on the E-Type (haven't needed to, thank goodness). Based on the outskirts of Portsmouth. They can be a little slow - but their work is good. https://www.aandbmotors.co.uk/ Hope all goes well, shame about the...
