Re: Tyres - 205/65R15

I used my Vredensteins on a Goodwood track day. Pushing really hard. The picture shows me being chased by a mark 2 fitted with a 4.7 litre supercharged engine - my inside front wheel is getting light under cornering, but never let go and did me very well. I was never overtaken by any other E, but we...

Re: E Type with Side exhausts !!

It says "period side exhausts" - when were they ever in period!
Ad also says "not an incomplete basket case" - so a complete one!

Re: Asking price record?

Crazy I'd say. Reckon my 2+2 is pretty damn good, and I reckon a top-end price for it would be £50k

Re: Tyres - 205/65R15

I've been through 4 m.o.t's with my vredensteins, at 2 different stations, and never had a problem with tyre rating.

Re: MOT no more?

Don't think that could happen Simon, although I could be wrong. Thing is, although you don't NEED an M.O.T, if you take an M.O.T and fail it, you are listed as MOT failed until you pass one, and can't insure the car. So even now, if you choose to take a mot and fail, you can't then drive until you p...

No more here than usual. Is joining the forum the ONLY thing he's done internet wise? Doubt it. Bit of a major conclusion he leapt to.

FORUM FLAG

I believe there is a forum flag/banner which can be used at get togethers. David thought AndrewH had it, Andrew doesn't know who has it. So, anyone have any ideas?

Re: Oil Capacity

Might have wrong dipstick. Should have the letter "E" stamped on the bottom of the dipstick. You don't want to run with too much oil - not good for the engine. I'd drain it again, completely, put in 14 1/2 pints and mark the dipstick as "full" at that point. One other thing - it takes for ever for t...

Re: Chrome wires

The beer sounds like the best bribe to me Norman! Plus the sunshine of course. Mark, I use a similar thing during the year, with MWS stuff. Same ddabb on, rinse off, but you then dab on a lacquer type of stuff after, which you allow to dry on. Again, about 10 mins per wheel. But once a year, I like ...

Re: Help Wanted with Buying an E Type

Also consider which car you can fit in! I'm 6ft 2ins, and simply couldn't get my head in the coupe or OTS, but the 2+2 is 2inches higher (and 9inches longer) and I fit in fine. I also like the extra luggage space. the cheapest of the variants because it's not the pure 2 seat sports car the original ...

For the first time ever, and with trepidation!, I will disagree with Christopher. I'm in area 1 of the JDC, a thoroughly friendly and down to earth group. next week, I'll be going with them to Rheims and Brittany, along with 20 other members from the area. A nice drive in the E. Then in September, I...

When you click on the blue "P" "add image to post", you will get a choice to re-size. If you don't, it doesn't seem to work for most pics (file size too big) If you choose the size shown for a 19 inch monitor, it seems to work.
