Yeah, mine's always done that. I've always assumed it's not a problem.

Re: Tuning SU Carbs

To be fair, I looked at what was involved in disconnecting and did't bother. Just left it all connected. Runs and ticks over very nicely, so maybe I was lucky?

Re: Clutch reservoir empty

I agree. I had the master cylinder leaking, and it just disappears into the footwell on mat and carpet. Typically, they leak from behind the bracket that secures them.

Re: Fan belt

If I was you, I'd ring SNG and explain your problem - they're normally very helpful. Maybe they sent you the belt for the wrong series/engine, and could send a (free) replacement that fits properly. You don't want a belt that's too tight.

Re: Choke warning light

Hi Barberlou - what's your name by the way? This is an old thread from 2014. I suggest you post your enquiry as a new topic on the series 1 thread, and you will be more likely to be spotted.

Re: Can windscreen chrome trims be reshaped?

I know they can, but not sure of the best way to do it. I'll wait for answers with interest, because mine don't fit well either! I suspect many don't.

Re: Tyres - 205/65R15

I used my Vredensteins on a Goodwood track day. Pushing really hard. The picture shows me being chased by a mark 2 fitted with a 4.7 litre supercharged engine - my inside front wheel is getting light under cornering, but never let go and did me very well. I was never overtaken by any other E, but we...

It says "period side exhausts" - when were they ever in period!
Ad also says "not an incomplete basket case" - so a complete one!

Crazy I'd say. Reckon my 2+2 is pretty damn good, and I reckon a top-end price for it would be £50k

Re: Tyres - 205/65R15

I've been through 4 m.o.t's with my vredensteins, at 2 different stations, and never had a problem with tyre rating.

Re: MOT no more?

Don't think that could happen Simon, although I could be wrong. Thing is, although you don't NEED an M.O.T, if you take an M.O.T and fail it, you are listed as MOT failed until you pass one, and can't insure the car. So even now, if you choose to take a mot and fail, you can't then drive until you p...
