under bonnet air scoop

Hello, I have compared my different E-Type V12 and unfortunately one of them has NO air scoop fitted on the lower side of the bonnet. I have ordered from SNG Barratt the air duct lower panel assembly BD38888, and both air scoop brackets BD38889 and BD38890 + also the air scoop moulding BD39575. My q...

7x15 ET3 Dayton wire wheels

Hello, I would like to know who has fitted Dayton wire wheels 7x15 ET3 (=with deep dish) on his E-Type V12. I ask, because I already have fitted Dayton wire wheels 8x16 ET22 with 225/60 R16 tires and I only had to modify the rear bump stop rubbers, but with 7x15 ET3 and 215/70 R15 the rear arches mu...

brake calipers with 2,88 differential from XJ-S

Hello, there are different stories about upgrading an E-Type V12 with a 2,88 differential from XJ-S: 1) must I use the XJ-S brake calipers instead of the E-Type ones? 2) must I use the XJ-S hand brake brake calipers instead of the E-Type ones? I hope here on this Forum there are a few experts that a...

Hi Pete, but then what is the reason why the whole rubber/plastic surface went down from the metal base? I mean it's not broken, I had "luck" that no pinion destroyed it. Even if the chain had too much tension, the rubber/plastik could show signs of the chain, but how could it be removed totally fro...

timing cahin dampers cracked!!!!

Hello again, please see the attached pics. There you can see for example that on C29636 the complete rubber surface is removed from the metal base. A new C29636 is above. Another interesting detail as that the above new C29636 from 2012 has a changed design of the angle of the rubber surface. The we...

Hello Dave, thank you for the feedback. But I just hope that Uryk has a reason for this behaviour, because it's not fair to do this without prior warning. What can be the real reason? I always thought that these things can occur when buying from a small single man company. It's always a big risk unf...

E Type Fabs

Hello,

I bought a 5 speed gearbox from E Type Fabs. Now I cannot contact Uryk. I have tried several times to call him and I sent him emails, but he never answered. Does anyone of you know what happened? Thank you and best regards from sunny Valencia

timing cahin dampers cracked!!!!

Hello, 4 years ago my 5.3 V12 engine was completely restored, with new psitons and liners, heads repaired, new valves, timing chain + tensioner + guides etc... = ALL done. But now happened an incredible problem: the upper and lower timing damper C29635 and C29636 cracked = the plastic/nylon surface ...

Hello Marek, please give me more details about your answer. Where can I buy this fully programmable system, price etc. Due to the fact that I have a Dodge Viper SRT10 with a supercharger and 700 HP, I really do not want to spend a lot of money only to get more power on the E-Type. For me the E-Type ...

5.3 or 6.0 engine for fuel injection?

Hello, I have read almost all information about converting a V12 with Stromberg's to fuel injection. What I always have heard is that the Lucas ignition and 5.3 ECU is easier to fit than the 6.0 with its Marelli ignition and ECU. I can use the engine from a 5.3 litre or but a good 6.0 XJ81 and use t...

voltage stabiliser

Hello, I need for my 1972 E Type V12 the voltage stabiliser. I have ordered from SNG Barratt part number 148876J, but it does NOT work correctly with my fuel level gauge. It goes immediately to maximum even if the fuel tank is empty!!! This must be due to its internal design. The old original voltag...

Weber V12 conversion: air filter FIRE!!!

Hello, my E Type V12 Roadster is still at my mechanic - we are converting the car to 6 Weber carbs with the "sausage" style foam air filters from Ramflo. I have tried to follow all experts advices: lowering the engine (engine mountings), putting shims to the hood to gain clearance and AIR under the ...

E Type V12 gear lever gaitor and gaitor trim

Hello, does the E Type V12 with manual transmission have the gear lever gaitor trim BD29419 or BD39386 (for cars WITh A/C) like the Series II? If this chrome trim was never a stock option, can it be fitted? Who has experience with this? I would like to change my leather gear lever gaitor and fit a c...

Hello,

this failure is due to the air con resistor, part numebr C27267. It's a green tubular part.

When fitting a new one, please avoid the direct contact to any metal surface, because the resistor will be hot when working = it needs air to be cooled.

Hello, I have a problem with my vacuum unit JS578 for my E Type V12. I have been talking and testing with my mechanic hours today - the result: my actual JS578 vacuum unit does NOT work correctly, it does not hold the vacuum. The problem is that the part is 1,5 years old and even another new JS578 f...

Hello, this kit is great. I bought it some years ago. BUT be careful with the white brushes, because they are stiffer than the black ones an could damage the chrome surface. Hello, you cannot compare directly 0W30 with 10W60. 0W30 is much thinner when cold and 10W60 has much more heat resistance when the outside temperature is very high (for example in july here in Spain) AND the engine is running at high revs... 10W60 was the only approved oil for Alpina B10 Biturbo, B...
