Re: Brake pedal position

Clive, I definitely need to change the brake fluid and to bleed the system. Mine starts to brake (pedal becomes hard) in the very end of its way. Should be air there in the system. There are not so many e-types in Moscow that I know of. There are a couple of series 2 and 3, but I know only of one se...

Re: Brake pedal position

There were different brake master cylinder arrangements on S1 cars so you need to be more specific. Is it a 3.8 or 4.2 and does it have the twin Dunlop master cylinders or not. But in any case, you should be able to change that position by adjusting the pedal on the splined shaft, although it's rat...

Re: Brake pedal position

Hi Art, Good luck. Let us know how it progresses. Hello, thank you for both answers. I will surely replace the brake fluid and bleed the system, I was thinking the same! Reference the brake pedal position, yes, a spacer is an idea, also I have heard about adjusting the pedal on the splined shaft, a...

Brake pedal position

Hello all! Please see photo attached. I think that the brake pedal has a strange position, too high compated to other pedals. Should this be considered normal? Also, when pushing the brake pedal, it first has a lot of free movement, and then in the end it starts to brake The car is E-type, S1. Thank...

Re: dampers and wheels advice

Thank you mate, so you suggest the stock option without any problem and it is stiff enough

I am asking as we have a Koni now, and I was wondering if stock is better

dampers and wheels advice

Hi all! If you'd have an opportunity to give a piece of a advice, would appreciate What dampers, front and rear, you would recommend for an E-type (S1), if we're looking at a harder, than stock, option... at SNG Barrat I can see, that for the front they offer KONI FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER / DAMPER (PROD...

Thanks

Thank you all,

There is no need to meet FIA standarts for me,

The idea is to be able to enjoy the car on track, if I decide to do it, but not to compete in actual races

Etype into a Race Car

Hello dear all, I have an idea, which will not necessarily come true, but I just want to understand what to look at, and would appreciate a piece of advice. What if I decided to turn my E-type ( E-type series 1, 1962 ) into a race (track) car. What company would you suggest to contact for such parts...

Hello guys! As some of you remember, last year I bought a beautiful E-type Series 1, and now it lives and prospers here in Moscow. Dear David I will take our Dyno (it is C42) to an electrician tomorrow morning, see if he can do something. If not - will most likely follow Ian's idea and get the new Alternator in the Dyno case. Ok thank you about the instructions, I understand that if modern equipment will be used we need to chan...

This is interesting

You simply by-pass the regulator - so this means that this Alternator does not need the regulator any more, and you just connect it directly ?

Although, it says there:

This Dynator can also be supplied fitted with a 89mm diameter, 'w' section pulley suitable for Jaguar E type 3.8/4.2 Series 1. (LMDC42-LMP72) - Negative Earth.

Probably it is a good option! thank you!

Dear Ian, thank you for your message. I am considering this as well, but as far as I understand this part will require extra work and parts for installation instead of an original dynamo?
