Re: Over torqued head nuts
So, we are talking about about an expense of about 250 GBP. What happens if one or more snap later on? What is the possible cost of repair?

Re: New member from Singapore
Welcome to the forum!
I was actually wondering if you have an idea how many e-types are there in Singapore? :-)
With the tax/permit for the parking space, it must be quite a challenge to have one there..

Re: Clutch pipe/hose/bracket routing LHD
Not the best photo, but should give you an idea: - top L shaped bracket is mounted on the inner, lower frame setscrew - the small bracket is mounted on one of the screws mounting the block to the gearbox bracket BTW, they are both the same colour as the radiator brackets (blueish). https://i.postimg...

If you need the cross pattern, I think James Lawrance does them.

Re: Series 1 early 3.8 radio console
Actually, it's an interesting question. I think that the early ash tray inserts were fixed with self tapping screws, while the later ones were UFS419/4H. The head though I think should be the same (Slotted Panhead). Also, all the original ones I have seen on photos looked chromed. https://i.postimg....

Re: Glas tint S1 FHC
I can't help you on the colour, check the SPC, however I can tell you that if you order glass from Pilkington you can order it without logo and then sandblast the logo using a stencil.
I used to make the stencils, however I no longer have the access to the laser printer :-(.

Careful which pipe you buy, as some stretch when filled with fuel.
They stretch to a degree, and then stop stretching...

Thanks all for the advice! Does not get me close the exact dimensions, but the thought of having them long enough is very valid :-)

Would anyone know what's the correct length of the battery cables on the 4.2 S1?

Re: oil pressure sender calibration widget
Hi Mike,
Would it also be able to use another good sender, but calibrated to a different scale (I think I have some senders from Maserati Ghibli)?
one for me please :-)

Re: early S1 top Radiator hose availability
I have this type of hose from Bill Tracy for my xk120 - I should probably add that it's rather hard, and would not expand like (probably) intended.
So, the cap might actually be from the later models...

No affiliation, but for those interested, the copy of the original Top Radiator Hose with Stocking Finish is available from old Bill Tracy stocks here: https://www.memotronics.com/top-radiator-hose-stocking-finish-for-jaguar-xk150/ David Jones mentioned it here: https://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.p...

Re: S1 Halfshaft removal without removing lower wish bone fulcrum shaft - is it possible?
Uff.... Thanks Steve - yes, it's my newly build setup.
I would like to make sure as well that the endfloat is correct as well - do you have any trick to mount the gauge? I do not have the mount that the service manual shows.

S1 Halfshaft removal without removing lower wish bone fulcrum shaft - is it possible?
I have unfortunately not aligned the halfshaft with the holes in the hub for the split pin... I am wondering if it's possible to remove the halfshaft without removing the lower wish bone outer fulcrum shaft. I need to rotate the hub so that the holes for the split pin align. Stupid me!! Tadek...

Door lock parts help needed
I am looking for 2 door lock wheels: https://i.postimg.cc/DwvdHrVg/Zrzut-ekranu-2023-07-30-171555.png A friend of mine sent the locks to for zinc coating, not realizing that these are aluminium, so they dissolved... Does anyone know what other locks these wheels were on? I was thinking of finding so...
