Re: OTS boot cable question

John, according to Clausager 'Factory Original Jaguar E-Type' the change to locking boot release was at the introduction of the 4.2. Page 87 "A welcome improvement on the 4.2 litre open two seater was that the boot release in the tonneau area was by this T-handle which incorporated a key lock" Can't...

Brrrr! It’s a bit cold. Anyone know how to light the boiler pilot flame?
You could try rubbing two Boy Scouts together

Re: Horn works when steering wheel is turned (very annoying)

Robert, it would help if you told us which series car you have, S2 has different horn control to S1.
Add it to your signature. Sorry can't help otherwise

Call the doctor? I think it's too late, Rory. You've obviously not been taking your medicine properly.

Re: SNG Barratt

Julian, can I ask about the Horn Push Assembly (C16070) you sell? Unfortunately, it does not replicate the original, colour, size of Growler. Is there a reason for this, for example copyright? In that JLR will not let you make exact copies? Or you decided against in case you were infringing copyrigh...

Re: Evans Waterless Coolant

Evans did a presentation recently where they said their system was the same as in Spitfire's Merlin engines as they ran on pure glycol. I had to correct them and point out that although RR first tried glycol only cooling they soon found out that a mix of glycol and water gave better cooling. Evans' ...

I've a 2014 year Michelin 205/70 R15 with less than 2000 miles use and still in good condition. If you are buying Michelin then this could be a useful spare. One way of reducing your total expenditure

Julian, welcome to the forum and thank you for your willingness to put your head above the parapet. Unfortunately most of us, me included, are too willing to remember the bad experiences and not all the good ones. The good ones are much greater than the bad ones and I'm very grateful for the help I ...

David, you say the lead shot was in S1 OTS, do you know why it wasn't used for the S2 or S3?

Re: Overwintering ...synthetic petrol

what is the current legislation regarding the use of fuel containing ethanol in light aircraft? I seem to remember it was illegal, is that still the case? Simon With the caveat that I've hung up my headset, ethanol and aircraft fuel systems and engines don't go well together. Attacking rubber compo...

Re: Overwintering ...synthetic petrol

Get out more, Simon
Let's throw a cat among the pigeons and suggest you use aviation fuel, 100LL, which has the advantage of not losing its octane rating over the winter and is a far more stable fuel than car petrol.

Re: Heater comparison S3 Vs S1/2

Richard, thanks, I bought one of those from Clayton Classics at Beaulieu. It should help. As I have an S3 heater, which with a bit of adjustment could fit an S2, then it seemed worth finding out from those who know whether it could work as an upgrade, with one of the curved deflectors and perhaps a ...
