Only time will tell...
some 6 years ago I used the oil canister AS DESCRIBED above as a sizing tool...so far so good..(the rear rope seal does not leak..or very very little)
Maybe at the end of the day we could use some optimism...WORKS

Of course the 2+2 has a different emergency brake actuator in the cockpit...

Assuming you have a 6 cylinder E...then in laymen's terms you want to tilt the top of the front wheels as far in as you can get...being equal on both sides AND you want "toe to be straight. Is there way to clear the lower timing chain so I can remove the crank??? I have already removed the timing cover without pulling the head plus the damper and its cone… If I could just take the lower timing chain off its sprocket on the crank…thereby clearing the crank… 1969 E Type 2+2 stock 6 cylin...

What should I NOT FORGET or do while I am replacing a scared crank...I have a good crank from a "85 xj6 that I plan to use. I assume this will work??? I assume I can change over to the better xj6 rear main seal...but how???? Good time to stop all the oil leaks...what seals and form a gasket to use??...
