Old parts - worth anything?
Hi all So I finally sold my beautiful series 1 FHC 4.2 and have been giving the garage a bit of a spring clean and found a load of e-type parts and was wondering what would be salvageable to someone and are they worth listing for sale? I've got the following parts: Set of cast iron manifolds, rusty ...

Re: Sidelights not working - advice needed
If it is the front lights not working , but the back lights working, then the prime candidate is a fault in the bonnet multiplug. The terminals often get corroded, and/or broken wires can appear/ and/or poor earthing all being possibilities Could someone post a photo of the multi plug and it’s loca...

Re: Sidelights not working - advice needed
Hi all Sorry for lack of detail. Car is a series 1 FHC and the fault is that both front sidelights are not working when switched on. I've told them to get a multimeter and check the switch, wires and light units for continuity as that is the way I have usually traced electrical gremlins but wondered...

Sidelights not working - advice needed
Hi all My car is at a garage and has failed an mot on the sidelights not working. They guys at the garage are currently looking at the wiring but are struggling to identify where the issue is as not e-type mechanics and I don't have access to the car. Is there any typical places that they should be ...

Re: E-type market - are cars selling?
Hi all I've just re listed my e-type on here in the sale section with a realistic selling price based on the current market values. It's now means the car is the cheapest UK RHD E-type for sale that isn't resto project. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to list the car for sale? Are ther...

Re: E-type illustrations - colour help
Hi all I thought I'd give a quick update on where I am with my car print ideas and designs. I've been through a number of ideas and have been working hard on using 3D models rather than purely illustrating the cars to give a more realistic look to the car and the lighting. Here are a few quick test ...

Re: E-type market - are cars selling?
Thanks everyone, some useful information. The feedback I’ve had from the dealer seems to be that the market is quite slow and that it’s just going to take time which is what you are saying. I will check where they are marketing the car to see if any channels haven’t been considered and see what they...

E-type market - are cars selling?
Hi all I was wondering if anyone had any idea if E-types are currently selling and the current state of the market? I've had my series 1 4.2 FHC for sale for a few months and haven't had much interest. Are cars selling or is the market quite flat at the moment? Also does anyone have any recommendati...

Re: E-type illustrations - colour help
Tried adjusting the colours on the red. I agree it's more metallic almost burgundy in the original because the colour tone seems to work better. I've done another version so see what you think, I still prefer the original I think, even though it's not 100% accurate colour it is supposed to be an art...

Re: E-type illustrations - colour help
So I was thinking maybe:
- Carmine red
- British Racing Green or opalescent dark green
- Opalescent silver grey
- Opalescent dark blue
- Black
- White
Would they be the most common colours?

Re: 4.2 strange sound coming from engine bay
Under the carbs there are 3 metal overflow pipes these can rattle against each other and on the frame rails. Well done that man, spot on with where the noise is coming from. Turns out in to the overflow pipe from the centre carb. Not sure how to stop it rattling though and not sure it's completely ...

Re: 4.2 strange sound coming from engine bay
Haven’t had proper chance to have a look but noticed that one of the aluminium floor panels looks like it might be rattling. I got XK to fit a new speed cable so maybe something got moved etc at the time which is causing the rattle. Hoping it’s nothing serious but will report back tomorrow
