What piece is missed here?

Image

I have a hole in the piece behind the driver’s seat, in a FHC 3.8. There is a similar hole at the passenger’s side. Is there any specific piece to fill the hole?

Re: Disguising a modern battery inside an old-case

My Antique Auto battery finally gave up so I decided to dissect it to see if it could be rebuilt. Guess what I found inside? https://i.imgur.com/QInCPYY.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5SlN29X.jpg Yep, the Odyssey PC925 as suggested by Rory. Unfortunately the Odyssey is glued onto the base with bitumen an ...

Re: Radiator drain tap

That one looks to be original - cadmium plated brass. You need two, one for the radiator one for the engine block. As Dave says in an earlier post they rarely fail and can be restored easily. I will take a photo of mine tomorrow but they are pretty universal so don't focus on 'Jaguar' when searchin...

Re: Radiator drain tap

If you look at post 8 here: https://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18589 You’ll see that replacing the tap with a simple screw in plug is a preferred solution. Even SNG Barratt now show one of those instead of the tap for part number C2354. Maybe talk to Radtec to ask if you can buy one of t...

Re: Radiator drain tap

I reopen this old tread. Do someone has a good set of pictures of the original C2354 drain tap? I saw one in eBay (https://www.ebay.es/itm/285096745498?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=1185-127638-7840-0&ssspo=ZH1aTLTCTfK&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=JnOw-PD_T2u&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY) but unsure this is o...

Re: Horn works when steering wheel is turned (very annoying)

Thank you Steve. It is indeed a wiring problem. When I pull the one powering the horn it stops working. I deconnected, clean contacts and connected again, and the problem appears and dissappears randomly. I don’t know what kind of permanent solution this problem can have. The relay is an SNG’ one, b...

Re: Horn works when steering wheel is turned (very annoying)

I’m suffering a slightly similar problem, but even worse. In my S1, if I push the horn, it keeps working until I simply stop the car (after attracting everybody’s attention) and use my circuit breaker to stop any electric activity. I’ve already changed once the fuse, so I’m trying to identify what o...

Re: Jack storage

I’m having problems trying to store the jack, the toolkit and the hammer. The toolkit and the hammer stores well but there is no way to put the jack inside the spare wheel (face down) Everything I got is original, and my car is a FHC 3.8 S1. May I see someone’s pictures showing the placement?

Re: New Reproduction Parts for E-Type's

David is correct - the mirror will fit to an original mouting foot. If you are struggling to fit, please do get in touch with us and we will be happy to advise. Thank you Julian, I begin to suspect that my problem is the mounting foot, I’ll check as soon as I’m back of vacations and revert if neede...

Re: New Reproduction Parts for E-Type's

I’ve bought the rear view mirror. Great quality, although I’m not sure if this mirror corresponds to a Mk II rather to an E Type (perhaps they are the same). The problem is that I can’t place it on the origanal foot and nut (see picture), perhaps SNG Barratt should explain how to proceed. Do I need ...

Better car lighting have produced a complete PL headlight using LEDs I believe. It might be worth giving Gil a ring on 01789576102.
I confirmed i’ve made that upgrade with superb results

Re: New Reproduction Parts for E-Type's

I wonder what "better chance for the enamel to stay on" is in real world. Apart from that, I bought replacements for the manifolds from SGB three months ago and the aspect was superb (I don't know if they are or are not the new ones Julian is announcing now)

Thank you Tim. Is this provider stamping the key with the Wilmot Breeden marks, as the originals?

Re: no keys for door locks

Hi. I've just tried to reach Pete Groh petegroh@aol.com, but it seems the email address is not working anymore. Does anyone have any idea about other address or suitable provider for Wilmot Breeden keys, not in the US? I'm looking for reproductions of the original Wilmot Breeden (UNION) keys, made t...

Re: Mysterious holes nearby the fuel pump

Just an fyi to prevent confusion in the future. That is the fuel sediment bowl not the fuel pump. If you develop a problem with fuel delivery you need to look for the fuel pump in the boot. Yes, apologies for the confusion. BTW, I've been surfing (again) the Factory Fit 3.8 section and I'm not find...

Mysterious holes nearby the fuel pump

I'm trying to identify what was missing nearby the fuel pump of my LHD FHC, October 62. I've marked one of the four or five holes I see nearby the fuel pump. Any ideas?

Correct in a 3.8?

Are these two pieces standard equipment on a 3.8 October 1962? Picture is from Jonathan Wood "Jaguar E type - The Complete History", and referred to the 3.8, but I haven't found them but in the 4.2.
