Re: Indicator - sidelights

SNG carries a Chrome Lens Joint Clip, product code 54571889. I used a few of these on my E-type several years back.

Re: E-type Series 1 3/61 Dated Lubrication Chart - Value?

Here is what appears to have happened. The vendor of the 3/61 lube chart originally listed on Ebay with a starting bid of $450 read my Forum comment about the rarity of these early charts and my assessed value of $300--$500. He immediately cancelled is Ebay listing and relisted the same chart with a...

Re: E-type Series 1 3/61 Dated Lubrication Chart - Value?

The 3/61 Lube Chart for the Series 1 E-type is quite rare. I've trolled Ebay for Jaguar parts as a hobby for many years and would guess I've see perhaps three (two as part of operating manuals). - I recall seeing only one 3/61 lube chart offered on Ebay in many years. I would not be surprised to see...

Re: Help to identify this toolkit - ? I believe from XK / XKE era

The tool roll itself is likely for a Series 2 (the Series 3 and the identical XJ6/XJS rolls were made of a thin unlined gloss black vinyl). - The 14" x 11" Series 2 roll featured nine main and two small pockets. Check the length and end markings on your box spanner -- - For most Series 2 E-types, th...

Re: Ser 1 tool roll @ jack bag

Hello, Randall - I just checked with Roger Payne in Australia -- he's the world's expert on vintage classic tools and associated materials. One measurement in his articles on jack bags was missing. - He replied that the bottom of the bag is 7" wide, noting that corners are slightly curved where edgi...

Re: Early FHC with non-straight rear bulkhead

"The car (885026) needs to be as correct as possible (with some minor exceptions)." - Curved bulkheads and dished footwells are not "minor exceptions." Those features cannot be easily or cheapily reversed. IMHO, it would be a shame not to restore such an early car to its original configuration, no e...

Re: External door handles?

Reference: Jaguar E-Type Six Cylinder Originality Guide, Haddock & Mueller, P-272 The door handle with separate lock configuration appeared with introduction of the 2+2 during Series 1 production for model year 1966 and likely ran up to Series 2 production. Re: HELM Jaguar E Type 300hp Restomod - Review

Beautiful work -- a simply gorgeous rendering of a Series 1 E-type with mostly elegant upgrades.
BUT -- I cannot believe that HELM kept the original style three plastic reservoir bottles with hoses attached to the nipples. For such a beautiful upgrade, why retain this potential point of failure?!

Re: 1962 Car Radio

The Optional Extras section of Jaguar's J30 Spare Parts Catalogue lists the Smiths Radiomobile HMV 500T radio and several other radios as options for early E-types. I purchased an HMV 500T about 10 years ago for my 1961 E-type from Tadpole Radios (www.TadpoleRadios.co.uk). What a beautifully restore...
