Very early handbrake / parking brake calipers
I am currently negotiating with a chap in Germany who apparently has for sale a very early (supplied on the first 89 or so UK roadsters 3.8) set of manual adjustment hand brake calipers. As you can appreciate these are like Hens teeth if what he is saying is correct. Would anyone have a photo(s) the...

Left hand drive to right hand drive steering conversion
Looking as purchasing parts for steering conversion (left to right) for my 1966 2+2 Series One E type. Looks a fairly simple job to undertake but are there any points that I need to be aware of. Can anyone recommend a reputable parts supplier who can supply in kit form, as opposed to ordering indivi...

Automatic to manual gearbox swap
I have just purchased a 1966 2+2 Series One E Type which was supplied from the factory with an automatic gearbox. I would like to convert it to a manual all synchro E Type gearbox from the same year. Whilst in principal it doesn't seem too complicated I would like to know if there are any detailed r...

Rear suspension components
I am having a sort out of my E-type rear suspension components and I know I have a mixture of very early 3.8 and later parts. With regards to the hub carriers, drive shafts and tie plate these are quite well documented and there are various photographs showing the difference but not when it comes to...

Torsion bars
HI to all Could anyone please tell me who supplies good proven quality torsion bars for a 1973 Series 3 car. I bought one set from a very well known parts company and was not happy with how the splines had been machined as one bar would not fit into the bracket. Or does anyone know if there is a spe...

Wheel bearing removal
Over the last couple of years I have had to replace the rear wheel bearings on a couple of e-types. I made up a jig to remove the hub from its carrier (both on wire wheels) which works quite well. Once the hub has been removed from the carrier the outer bearing remains in situ. On both occasions I h...

Kelsey Hayes braking system
I have located from two different sources components that should, if advertised correctly, provide me with a complete braking / clutch system for my 1962 roadster that at some point has had a later braking update installed, which I now wish to return to original. The purchased parts will need to be ...

I have a 1962 home market roadster than at some point in its life has had a upgraded (dealer talk!)later Lockhead type Servo with miles of additional pipework added. Body ID Plate
I am not looking to get too involved in a long drawn out conversation on why the body tags are missing when all I wanted to know are the fixing hole centers, but having been around these cars for nearly twenty years you start to understand a little bit more about how they have been treated and resto...

Body number ID plate
I have various cars with the body number ID plates missing for various reasons. So I decided, at vast expense, to order them already reverse embossed. One of the cars is a home market, very late, 1967 roadster. Unfortunately where the tag is normally pop riveted on there are numerous holes where I a...

Body Number ID Plate
I have just recently ordered and taken delivery of some body number ID plates stamped with the correct number on as I have various cars that have them missing for unknown reasons. One of the cars is a 1973 home market roadster. I went to "pop rivet" the tag on the rear end of the car where the holes...

Body No / ID Plate
During the restoration of my V12 Roadster, the restoration company removed the body number ID plate (located behind the rear number plate). Subsequently this has been lost!!
Does anyone know where I could have these re stamped to match the original?
Regards

TRIMMING
I recently had a bad experience with regards to sending on of my E Types off to a well known trimming company. Although the end result was quite good the car came back in an absolute state. (covered in dust, specs of glue on the paint, scratches on the paintwork, etc etc) As I have another vehicle t...

What type of paint ??
I am nearing the completion of my Series 3 E Type roadster and the metal speaker panel / radio console that sits on top of the gear box is looking a little tired.
