Very interesting discussion. To ensure minimal cockpit cooking in my OTS series 2 previously experienced here in perth, western australia, where summer temps run between 38 degC and 42 deg C, for the interior cabin, I have gone with Koolmat overlain with Dynamat Extreme. As pointed out by Peter, the ...

i have recently purchased soft top cover from classic jaguar, austin texas for my series 2 dhc. Good fit with all hooks etc installed as they should be. I believe local US manufacturer.

I believe they source their interior trim kits from Suffolk and Turley.

I am about to install a new Rob Beere Racing 6 cylinder 5.16 litre stroked engine into my series 2 dhc - 356 bhp and 412 ft-lbs

I will be running Amsoil SAE 20W-50 PREMIUM PROTECTION SYN MOTOR OIL. A touch expensive, but good reports based on other users testimonials.

I have purchased a Pertronix 'Second strike' unit with rev limiter.

http://www.pertronix.com/prod/ig/strike/default.aspx

I mainly bought it for the rev limiter, but will be interested to see if the extra spark does anything. Shop around, but JEGS provide good price.

heed the warning on the use of a power jet to clean chrome wire wheels. Like a plonker, I cleaned my chrome wire wheels with the karcher power jet head a little too close to the hub and watched the chrome peel off! Learnt my lesson there. So now have set of new dayton wire wheels Dayton EW 15...

Marriage is like a pack of cards.

In the beginning all you need is two hearts and a diamond.

By the end, you'll wish you had a club and a spade!!

stroker kits for 4.2 litre engine

I see that Eagle offer a 4.7 litre engine for their etypes. I assume this capacity can only be achieved by using a modified crankshaft and pistons or "stroker kit" as our friends over the pond call it. Can anyone advise who manufactures stroker kits in the UK. Also their performance and reliability ...

Yup - you can use a 4 speed Jaguar box with overdrive from one of the XJ6 saloons. It is usually referred to as the MOD conversion. More info here: http://etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=334 and here: http://www.mraven.com/Jaguar%20E-type/E-type%204-speed/E-type_4-speed.html For what it is worth,...

Re: Boot Lid Won't Stay Open

My boot wouldn't stay open because some of the springs in the hinges were broken. I'm told this is not all that rare. I've replaced them now. If anyone else is contemplating this job I have written up a how to do it guide. Its on my website www.stretton.tv/springs.htm If someone can explain to me h...
