Re: Virtual classic car show

Remember it well and really enjoyed the weekend, when we eventually got off the track. A couple of E Types turned up that day. We were close to by you on the track assuming you were in the car taking the photographs.

Re: Loose, floppy brake pedal

Does the pedal have side to side movement. Mine had this. The pedal I think is on a spline and the nut holding holding it on came lose. I applied the brakes and the brake pedal jumped the spline giving me a loses peddle feel. Eventually the pedal slipped the spline completely and hit the floor with n...

Re: 80 mph in an A30

I had a Ford Angela 100E and put a Ford Classic GT engine in it with twin coke webbers. I used the 107E engine mount frame.
You will have to excuse the cravat. It was all in for the period.

Re: Repairs to S1 cam cover

Have you seen the Solution Welding rods.they are low melting point and just need a Blow torch. I have never used them but seen them demonstrated at shows. I do not know if they work but the videos look impressive. Could work for non structural repairs. Just an option to try providing you hold the co...

Mine is the same. You have to press the lever to bring it out enough to go in.

In the picture of the underside of the e-type above. What is the radiator looking object just in front of the rear suspension cage. I cannot make it out from the picture. The exhaust seem to run through it.???? :scratchheadyellow: :scratchheadyellow:

Re: Merry Christmas

Well l have just realised that I have been a member of the forum for just over 10 year. It has been a great help and I have made lots of friends. I would have met more if we did not use handles instead of your actual names. I must have met a lot of you and not realised who you were as you use your a...

Re: Front wing part panel. 62 series 1 e Type convert

Thanks Steve and Simone. Look forward to meeting up at some event in spring/ summer. I hope to be going to the JEC weekend in Nebb House. Simon, nice to see you are getting out in the sports car. You will get older eventually and insurance will not be big issue, but enjoy your youth as it will soon ...

Re: Front wing part panel. 62 series 1 e Type convert

I shall stop boring you now with my last pictures which are not very good quality. So this is what you get for £7,400 all in including vat, strip down and rebuild and new part panels to lower wings. I have not seen the final finished job yet but it looks good so far. Thanks to Andy from Hudson’s for...

Re: Front wing part panel. 62 series 1 e Type convert

Thanks guys, picking it up on Monday on a trailer. No point in driving it home when the salt has been down. Then it is three months in the garage in a car cocoon . Not sure if they work or not but it cannot be any worse then leaving it uncovered in the garage that can get damp when the mist rolls in...

Re: Front wing part panel. 62 series 1 e Type convert

Thanks for the replies guys I think the holes in mine have been filled in going by the pictures you have posted. They are just going to cut the black off as there is not point in hacking out the holes now. We live and learn.

PS. Christopher, Did you get my e-mail regarding using the lift?

Re: Front wing part panel. 62 series 1 e Type convert

Anyone know the answers to my questions regarding the stick on front number plate colour. Ie, White on black or silver on black and if there should be a hole to take the door post rubber as circled in the picture above in blue.

https://i.postimg.cc/8zfNLf6C/38-AEBD3-A-8384-4-A22-A8-BE-FC98-B95-FD365.jpg If you look at the area marked in blue pencil, I believe there should be a hole to take a rubber block attached to the A post door seal, Is this correct as mine has either been filled in or does not exist. Can anyone enlig...

Re: Front wing part panel. 62 series 1 e Type convert

Hi Simon, It is just the respray and replacing the bottom section of the front wings. A few oil leaks from the cam covers to sort out but nothing to serious. Should get it back before Christmas. I am getting or buying a car cacoon to keep any damp out. Any views on cacoons would be appreciated or ar...
