Re: 4.2 flywheel ring gear damage

If the holes need to be enlarged slightly on the bell housing for the bolts, then this is not quite a fully reversible mod that has been alluded to in years of other posts, or is this just peculiar to the Fosseway starter motor replacement. It would be good to capture some of these things / variance...

pure porn! How did you refinish the rocker covers. Powder coating masking off the ribs? did you skim the raised sections?

Re: Boot drain fitting

Hi Ah, I was thinking of the OTS. On the FHC there is the drain tube at the bottom of the back door aperture than you rightly show. It is part BD.19635/1 which is a piece of pipe 6 1/4" long. There is a drain tube also coming from the petrol filler box, BD.659/9 - 18 5/8" long BD.19032 is the Drain ...

Re: Is this from my car?

Yes. Fully concur with Christopher. It looks like the crank case breather pipe (C.28247 or C.28710 for US & Canada). It indeed does have 2 short rubber hoses (C.25263) & at either end as Christopher correctly remembers.

Re: Bump Stops in rear arches

My bump stops were removed, presumably, when the fat 205/70 tyres were fitted. I've searched for the parts shown in that other thread "Ohlins bump rubbers #00563-03" but to no avail. Does anyone know of where they (or an equivalent) can be found? For the S2 it is part No. C.25938 available at SNG. ...

Re: SNGB Customer Survey

Don't fully agree. Many incorrect links on the site between the diagrams and parts. Full of spelling errors, too many pop ups, and altogether somewhat slower than the previous incarnation :(

I wish dimensions of some of the parts - especially their relabelling of bolts, setscrews etc was also given.

Re: Exhaust manifolds / headers.

also look at zircotec
https://www.zircotec.com/exhaust-coatings/

They have done eType mainfolds before, although I've not been able to find the owners who had them done or if the cars are "drivers" to test the durability of the coating.

Correct colour for coil mounting brackets

Does anyone know the correct colour for the 2 mounting brackets for the ignition coil on an S2 with the 2nd revision engine. These are the brackets that mount the coil over the crankcase breather cover at the front of the cylinder head.

Re: Advice regarding softtop lock mechanism

When closed, you shouldn't be able to see the chrome top strip along the window. The rubber sits along, in front of this and slightly above. There is some adjustment with the centre lock in the form of washers used as shims behind the mounting. The soft tops are notoriously difficult to get sealing ...

You kept the flux capacitor installation out of your restoration thread! Can we expect a write up in the Upgrades section? Does it require the addition of an extra relay?
