Re: 123 and tachometer

Have you checked inside the distributor where the weights are? Is that all cleaned out and no muck or gunk. That did cause a very hard to trace misfire on mine a while back.

Re: What happened here ?

The heritage certificate was issue to Victory Classic Cars in the Netherlands. This is ER Classics. https://www.erclassics.com
They should have a paper trail of who they sold it to after Jan 17.

My mechanic swears by Three Bond 1215. Uses it on a large number of various classics from Ferraris to Alfas.

SNG and SC both stock kmh versions, I suspect from the same supplier - probably Smiths.

Re: Speedo Dial in kmh

Please let us know how you get on. The polycarbonat dial face they picture does have the full beam light in the wrong place for an etype. I also suspect that their faces will be flat, whereas the original is a formed shape - dished into the middle. I expect this is to allow for the height of the jew...

Re: Speedo Dial in kmh

Replacement gauge faces are available from some of the usual suppliers. However, I haven't seen one with both mph and kmh on the same dial. It is either one or the other.

Re: 15 hour road trip in hellcat, UK - Austria

I'm sitting in Söll at the moment. I often do the run along Inntal on the way to/from Switzerland. To be honest, there is not much to fear, and in the last 2 years I haven't been stuck once due to conditions. It is very pretty in the summer, especially here in Tirol and I prefer it to Arlberg and Sw...

Re: Advice on removing S2 bumpers please

Doesn't it have to be the regulation at the time the car was first put on the road is the applicable one? and of course, each country will have its differences - hence the long list of variations when it comes to lights, bulbs and clusters.

Re: Advice on removing S2 bumpers please

Hi

The reversing lights on your current mod are already bright enough :) I'd be interested if it would be possible to use them as fog lights. e.g. white on reverse, red on a new fog light switch.

15 hour road trip in hellcat, UK - Austria

Having got the car returned from Angus (thank you Angus and the team for all your work), where it has been since April, the Channel Tunnel was booked for Sat 23rd to bring the car back to the continent for its bi-annual swiss inspection. Hellcat, as the car has become known had mostly tub work, a re...

Re: More duff info?

The 2 references I used for that complete info was Clausiger and xkebooks, and in turn referenced the Jaguar Service Bulletins. I will freely admit, a good, indexed library of the complete set of Service Bulletins would be a very useful resource. As far as I am aware, there isn't a complete set avai...

Re: More duff info?

OK. On the Series 2 which you have there were 3 camshaft pairings. As you were reading 618 or 819 if it was upside down, you have the second pairing. C.14985 Inlet Camshaft; Engine Nos. 7R.1001 to 7R.8687, 7R.35001 to 7R.38854 C.13081 Exhaust Camshaft; Engine Nos. 7R.1001 to 7R.8687, 7R.35001 to 7R....

Re: Wire Wheel Cleaning kit

There are car detailing products that will give them a high degree of protection. At the basic level you can use the same wax as the car body. Otherwise you can go the direction of hard ceramic nano coatings etc. These are extremely durable and make them much easier to clean in the long term.

  Angus has just taken mine off, if only I had known! Its the least I could do after getting the wheels from you. It did make me go and google a few images of corvettes and cobras with the side pipes. I don't think any of the lightweight E's had them but I think I recollect seeing so...
