Hi Tom,
Have you checked the servo vacuum hoses that run past the exhaust, I had some collapse in high temperatures, just run your hands along the hoses and you can feel it.

Hi Tadek,
I have just rebuilt my IRS, you should be able to move by hand the handbrake levers up or down to align up with the linkages.
Hope that helps.

Half shaft UJ`s
Hi Guys,
I am changing the half shaft UJ`s, I have one fitted at the moment, in one axis I have easy movement by hand and in the other axis it has stiff movement by hand, what should I be aiming for?
Thanks
Nigel

Hi Darren,
I had the same problem, it was a melted fuse holder which makes the fuse contact loose, so i would look around that area for loose contacts, blown fuse etc, from memory RH fuse block 3rd down.

Ebay: Series 2 FHC with front coil springs?
Hi
Just been looking at a smart looking Series 2 FHC on ebay (eBay item number:173247666762) and it appears to have coil over shocks fitted on the front, I have not seen this mod before, surely the frame is not designed to take this loading?
What`s your thoughts on this?

I had a similar problem, it was one of the carb float valve stuck closed, so no fuel getting to those cylinders, so worth a check to see if they move freely.
Best of luck

Hi Jeremy,
I would use a thick wall heatshrink, slightly larger diameter than you need and shrink down using a heat gun,
various suppliers on EBay.

Re: Thermostat bypass
If you bought the SU kit from Burlen Ltd, there is a brass plug which is fitted in the small rubber hose when you cut the hose close to the radiator along with a small jubilee clip to clamp it.

Re: Dreaded Heater Pipes bother? Not Bother? Yes or No.
I was able to change the heater pipes with the wiper rack in situ, you need the top dash panel removed, feed in pipes from LH side aperture, before removing old pipes feed some thin flexible wire ( or string use a airline to blow it through the pipe) through each pipe with plenty of length hanging o...

Hi, Just a update to my oil pressure/filter problems, I purchased a end plate (item6) and enlarged the hole to fit the filter housing that seems to do the trick. I fitted a high flow oil pump even though the original pump looked OK, after fitment my oil pressure increased to about 30psi with no vari...

Hi David, Thank you for your quick reply, I do have the end plate item 6, it is the other disc plate on the filter housing itself which is not shown in the illustration. I think you are right it would only affect the filtration, I have checked the spring loaded valve (item 13) and it seems OK and th...

Oil filter and oil pressure problems.
Hello, I am a new member to the E-Type club and E-Type forum from Beds/Bucks border, UK. I decide I just had to get hold of E-type after 10 years of vintage driving in a Alvis 12/50, I need something with a bit more go and synchromesh! so I have been searching for nearly a year. The prices in the UK...
