Rubber seal for Sky-Top (Hollandia) EZ-Glide metal sunroof in ’72 2+2

My ’72 2+2 is equiped with a manual metal sunroof “Sky-Top (Hollandia) EZ-Glide”. The pictures below have been taken before starting the restoration. https://i.postimg.cc/26jf287Y/RoofOld1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/RZc5mnP9/RoofOld2.jpg In the meantime, I have disassembled the sunroof, detailed every...

Richard,

take a look here: https://forums.jag-lovers.com/t/new-foa ... 2-2/429829
However, it is quite straight forward to construct the foam from scratch.

Re: Fuel Expansion Tank

Colin, that sounds correct. In my application, ('72 V12) the line extends to the engine bay and feeds the gas through a charcoal canister (which you don't have)

I have used the specs below for my calipers. I can't recall where I found it and I have to reject any resposibility if you use them. - Manfred +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The torque values specified by Volvo for the P1800 calipers in 1961 were: Tig...

O ring part no. for output shafts in ‘72 S3

Dear, I need to find out which o rings I need to seal the axle shafts of my '72 S3. I have ordered o rings P/N 12473 according to the jag parts list. However, they are several mm smaller than the old ones and don’t fit in (fill) the groove in the diff housing. https://i.postimg.cc/cJBCJdjP/ORing1.jp...

Re: Seeking advice for new brake pipes

Again, thanks for the replies so far. I have decided to fabricate my own lines since I have some experience from the past restoring my Mustang. I have even ordered a flaring tool that can do the required SAE bubble flares. Next thing is to order the correct junctions/brake line nuts. I can find 3/8"...

Re: Seeking advice for new brake pipes

Thank both of you for your replies! So it looks like building the lines myself is the way to go. What confuses me is the necessary fittings and flare. As far as I understand, it is 3/8"-24 with SAE F flare. However, I have read that the DIN F flare which is more common here in Germany can also be us...

Seeking advice for new brake pipes

Hi,

I plan to replace all brake pipes as part of the restoration of my '72 2+2. Problem is, the usual suppliers only offer Cunifer brake pipes which (as I read) are not accepted by the German TÜV.

Does anyone know a supplier offering brake pipe sets made from steel pipe?

Thanks, Manfred

Re: S3 Wiper Motor Brushes set

Hi Drew,

to my knowledge, the motor is a Lucas 15W and you are looking for LUCAS 54704696 brush set.
Try Google with that part number, it turns up some hits.

Rob,

don't forget to check your exhaust manifolds for a leak. It can sound much like what you describe.

Re: Orphan wires in my 1972 Series 3 2+2

Mark, below is a picture of the wiring of my '72 S3, maybe it helps. On first sight, I looks like someone has removed the black/white wire from the rightmost switch and replaced it with the black wire. Also, the isolation on that wire looks different from the rest. - Manfred https://i.postimg.cc/Dwv...

Re: Continuous Fan

Hi Bernie,

not normal. PO has either bridged the otter switch (or OS is bad) or the AC radiator fan relay is continously on which again bridges the otter switch, makes the radiator fan relay which then runs the fans.

Re: Front brake caliper thoughts

I have a pair of S2 calipers hat I have just cleaned ready for a rebuild. They didn’t need new pistons so the rebuild costs just the seals. And a cat of paint (I’m too cheap to get them plated). However, I did split the calipers to clean them and that has left me with a dilemma. None of the seals k...

I've just measured a couple of washers that I think are correct bonnet spacers at 2.5mm.

The SNGB ones were a bit thinner and this made installing the bonnet trim strips difficult.
Thanks!
