Re: Help me with my rev counter conversion/rebuild.

I used this eBay external RVI to RVC convertor. You by pass all the ineternals and wire it up straight to the tacho needle.

Rear hub carrier damaged

Hi So while I had the irs off the car I gave it a clean up and I can’t beleive I never noticed the damage on the hub carrier before, It looks like at some time the wheel has fallen off and the car has skidded along the road wearing out the bottom. What I’d like to know, is the hub carrier on the S2 ...

Re: Advice on diff input seal

Thanks for all your advice here. Yeah I realised I had the seal the wrong way round when I had another look at it over the weekend. I’ve put a new seal in now the correct way round and torqued the pinion nut up to 120ft/lbs. It seems to spin ok without feeling tight. Interestingly being a manual us ...

Re: 123 Dissy with Bluetooth

Yeah I’ve got one. You can program the exact curve you want including the vacuumed advance. You can also adjust the timing on the run. A great feature to help get it rite. You have an app that gives you a dashboard with rpm, ignition timings, vacuumed, engine temp, volts, coil current and gps speed....

Re: 123 and tachometer

Hi Yeah I’m in oz too and I didnt want to send my tacho away. I fitted the 123 system to my S2 works great. With the tacho i got this converter from eBay. This covers it from RVI to RVC . Just wire it up to the gauge on the original tacho and it bypasses the old original circuit. You will also need ...

Advice on diff input seal

Well today I dropped the irs and one of the jobs I did was change the input shaft oil seal. I’m thinking I may need to redo it because the rubber around the edge is not sitting rite and also should I have changed the seal gasket and the collapsible washer too? https://s10.postimg.cc/ldkkma1hl/6_C0_C...

Re: Non-standard S2 ignition switch hot?

Yeah I've got a S2 OTS also from the states. It was built in 1968 and has the exact same ignition switch. However my ignition switch is mounted on a plate that bolts to the steering column like the S1 has. I took mine apart as well and gave it a clean as part of the resto. Comes apart fairly easy, d...

Re: Using Twin Lambda sensors - anyone else tried this ?

Yeah I've used a single one on mine to tune up a set of webers. I only used one as with webers the same jets go in all barrels anyway. I originally had the carbs tuned on a rolling road, however I was never satisfied with the tune. It was OK on the main jets but I discovered that driving at a consta...

Re: Collecting my e type 2+2 project tomorrow

Lovely looking car. Very exciting picking up an e. When I got mine I spend most of the time just sitting in it admiring the view from the drivers seat. If you are going to be putting the steering wheel back onto the correct side, there is lots of excellent info here. It's not that hard to do and if ...

Re: S2 Radio Speakers

Hi Another option I did was to mount the speakers and original grill to some 18mm MDF. This gave better speaker response, and enough clearance from the gearbox tunnel to mount a pair of pioneer base speakers. The MDF was then contoured to the profile of the original grill and painted in plack wrinkl...

Re: Is this an original keyring?

Thanks for clearing that up.
I was wondering about this as the metal bit doesn't flip up, it's sort of sown into the leather.
Interesting about the font, is it the G that gives it away?

Is this an original keyring?

Hi, I've recently seen posts on a Facebook page of people's e type key fobs, and they look different to mine. I was told when I bought the car it had the original keyring. Can anyone confirm for me if this is the original type of keyring for a 1969 series 2. Many thanks Steve http://i1160.photobucke...
