Re: 'GB' Letters

Back to the GB / UK sticker thing. I have CH on the back of my Allard, never been challenged. But there is another side to this, despite trying very hard...I have never had a Euro speeding fine come through for that car. I seem to get them easily in my Porsche with GB on the back, but never in the A...

Re: 2019 NEC Classic car show - my Etype

I was there on Friday, great show.

Walking through the door and the first car was your Coupe...what a lovely car.

Mine left the factory in that colour...some Yank painted it maroon...no accounting for taste.

Re: The dreaded colour topic

I think paint it how you like, I intend to with mine. I want a pale blue colour, similar to you see on current Fiat 500's.

Like you have pointed out, if it was a '61 flat floor then you would really need to consider the originality issue.

Yes, rather entertaining...I have had similar experiences with older cars...

Re: Scam alert!

stpallas - he's the guy in New Jersey who exports unrestored cars, isn't he? Yes, personally I have had good service from him, my S1 OTS came from Mario. It was pretty much as he described. He does work as a middle man and he has not always personally seen the cars. His descriptions are rather vagu...

Re: Rear Wind deflectors

Hello Sorry, not used one on an E Type. But have fitted one to my Porsche 968...it was a revolution for the fairer sex with long hair. Before fitting you needed to speak loudly to each other above 60 mph, above 80 you had to shout and above 100...use hand signals. Now normal conversation can still b...

Re: One step closer..

Well done. It all starts somewhere, and for some of use things dont come easily. My first classic came as an eBay mistake (did not plan to bid) 15 years ago. Sensibly I could not afford the car, but I had a little cash saved from overtime and...this will raise eye brows...selling items on eBay that ...

Re: Series 1.5 Headlamp Buckets

Hi Fixed Head

Thank you for the reply, I have now down loaded and read the Judges Guide...very informative and that has cleared up a number of points regarding the car.

As ever, a very valuable community on here.

Thanks again.

Re: Series 1.5 Headlamp Buckets

Interesting thread.

My S1 is one of the last export cars, triple SU's, toggle switches and open head lights. Are these head lights the same as the S1.5 or different again?

Thanks Arron

Thank you for the tip off.

I went along, met a few nice folk and bought my first parts.

Full front suspension kit.
Full coolant hose kit.
New front brake cylinders.
New brake pipes, flexi and copper.

I will have the Allard back together later this week and then I can start.

Thanks again.

Hello I have bought a car from Mario (stpallas058) before, car was just as he described. I know a couple of folk who have had cars from him as well...all have worked out well. His descriptions are very short...but as every part is so subjective I don't blame him. If a car is of serious interest then...
