Re: Low Drag Coupe

You're right Dawnpatrol, to be accurate, the CUT7 replica should have a steel tub. FIA seems to be flexible.

This one is a full aluminium monocoque -> https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20145/lot/155
Now 846 FON resides in USA. The owner has the original 49FXN in his stable.

Re: Low Drag Coupe

Just spotted on the Facebook account of a british restoration company. JC Restorations. They received a new Low Drag body from RS Panels. Full alloy, CUT7 body, it looks like to become a road version according to some details. https://s12.postimg.org/rhnpwrxnt/16707458_373205513041936_23013611985125...

Re: 3.8 Aluminum engine

"The other questions are for you to answer depending what you intend doing with the car". That's the whole point ! Do you want to race with the car seriously ? If not, I think that an iron bloc with a nice preparation could be terribly fast... Today, all the aluminium engines are C&G. Very reliable....

Re: Low Drag Coupe

Relatively easy. Lynx produced only 5 examples and RS Panels one, 77WK. Dunford have strange wheels arches and a more bulbous roof.

To answer Quattrofrank, I don't think it's Opalescent Dark Blue.

Re: Low Drag Coupe

CMC rebuilt the original monocoque with one man in house. RS Panels provide assistance. Here is the album of the panel beater in the CMC workshop -> https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4ZAuxvqX_RAdHNQMnRkYUpBWTg The second, 77RW, was entirely built by RS Panels near perfection. https://s22.post...

Re: Low Drag Coupe

Another company built recently a mixed example between CUT7 and the Lindner car. When I asked them where they found their panels, they never answered. Re: Low Drag Coupe

Hi Markus, there are few suppliers of body panels around. The first question is what do you want to build ? CUT7, Lindner Nocker or 49 FXN ? The second, are they ready to sell you panels ? I think they only sell complete bodies. RS Panels are in the best in my opinion. To date, they have built the E...

Re: Speedograph Richfield

I just received my temp gauge and my speedo from Richfield. Gauge repair and speedo calibration. Excellent service. Delay, 4 weeks. I'm in France.

For the speedo calibration, I followed their instructions, 6 turns of wheel etc... My speedo is now absolutely correct.

You are right Andrew, it's the original OSB. The model was painted with the real car in a bodyshop. Great model. A german modeller made incredibles E-Type with this kit. http://www.finemodelcars.info/index.html https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-xxlR__0Ln88/VN9BAHve3EI/AAAAAAAAgVk/BpU7xP0nxGI/w709-h...

Here is what I have done with a second steering wheel found in a junkyard. Black epoxy and wood restored by a local cabinetmaker ! I found the idea when I saw the second Lindner Nocker made by CMC. http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/631535volant01.jpg http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/656545volant02....
