The last train to Clarksville

Hope you heard our Leader delivering two tracks on Chris Evans this morning, Last train to Clarksville and I’m a believer.
IMHO the first being the best he’s done. Do you still get royalties David?
Apologies to those sensible folks who haven’t a clue what I’m on about.

Re: Overdrive in 2+2

Blimey, I think I’ve just been Crespin ed! Do I get a badge? I know how Pike must have felt. `(Sorry Peter you probably don’t have Dads Army in the Colonies). Clearly I should have said”a dimensionally standard car”. I wonder if the factory guys who fettled the bonnets thought the cars were standard...

Re: Overdrive in 2+2

Many thanks guys, It does rather confirm what we all know in that there is no such thing as a standard car. The factory just used whatever was to hand and if it didn’t fit they made it fit. I will make up a jig to offer up the ex S type box and short tail o/d and prepare to cut and shut. Using this ...

Re: Overdrive in 2+2

Hi Forumites, some help please from someone who has done it preferably. I am fairly happy that I have the correct short tail o/d box and sitting it alongside the original non o/d (mnod ?) gearbox it appears straightforward, even the original propshaft will fit. The o/d is slightly bulkier than the l...

Re: Series II power steering

Hi Mick, is the rack you have orriginal to the car or is it an aftermarket one, possibly Vicaridge? If the latter it will show obvious signs of having bits sawn/ground off. I have bought, but not yet used, a Vicaridge one so have the instructions and could send you details and photos of how they moun...

Re: LHD/RHD conversion series 2 OTS

Hi Brian, I bought a bare casting from Ken Verity about a year ago from some leftover stock he had. It needed quite a bit of fettling but he may have some left. I think he trades as Series 1 Spares and Restoration. Pm me if you can’t find his details. With the number of left to right conversion bits...

Koolmat experiences

I have a 69 series 2 2+2 and wish to fit Koolmat however their advert specifically says their kit is not for the 2+2.
Anyone done this? How much will I be missing?
Michael.
