Re: Broken exhaust stud
Just a thought,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the new stud protrudes more than others. Is it not fully screwed in ? and if not could any blockage in the head thread have contributed to the soriginal tud loosening itself ?
If you have a UNC thread tap then try to check for clearance ? just an idea :-)

Re: Sugar scoop fitting
Does the series 2 have the wing and bonnet centre panel welded together [ below the headlamp apererture] ?
if so did you seperate wing from centre panel in your restoration, ie cut that weld out ?
and have you rewelded after preperation and before repainting ?

Re: S1.5 fans come on when bonnet closed !
The otter switch should be in the front of the radiator header section and has a single wire connection. The other end of the wire goes to a fan relay mounted on or around the picture frame. The purpose of the wire/ otter switch is to connect a negative [ground] to the fan relay it appears in your c...

Re: Camshaft question
I keep looking at that camshaft sprocket bolt head saftey wiring, and should say it doesnt seem right for me. In the mid seventies I worked for a while at Roder in Germany on aircraft electrics, so became familier with safety wire locking of bolts. I accept that the E type is not an aircraft, nevert...

Generally the UNC [ Unified Course] threaded bolts screw into alumium................ I believe ?
