Re: Radiator fluid change.

TBH I found that both my new radiator and block drain valves leaked, poor reproductions. So mine have brass plugs.

Re: Balance Link Springs

Just had a light bulb moment, maybe that is where my front rattle is coming from, if my springs are on the loose side of not quite tight enough  When the bonnet is locked down, the springs are under heavy tension and therefore will be tightly secured at each end on their retaining pegs. IMHO ...

Re: Washer bottle rubber replacement

I used upholstery strapping. The type used for seats with a limited stretch. Managed a good colour match too. Was only in 2” widths , so cut down. Worked on my S1 plastic reservoir. :P

Re: Clever instrument panel trick

I used plumbing washers with a selftapper, good grip and vibration proof.
After retriming my radio consol, I need to remove the strip, no worries.

Re: Brake fluid syphoning

Yes it is. The seal in the middle of the shuttle in the servo is not sealing. If the slave reservoir is lower down than the master reservoir, then it'll just overflow eventually as it is gravity feeding straight through. If it were only happening when the brakes were applied/released, then there is...

Re: Scuttle top casing cover

I fitted just the mill board pieces, as said they are textured (also not visible). The covers are quite chunky with a traditional flax / hemp insulation and black heavy finish. These are still on the shelf and will probably never be fitted.

A couple other Eathstraps to check, front left of engine to engine frame, rear left engine frame to body (at reaction plate). sounds scary :wow:

Re: Vacuum pipe s1

yes I wish I had added both when I did mine and was replacing both bulkhead water pipes. At the time I did not appreciate that both the 2 vac pipes would go inside bulkhead. Ended up with a larger copper pipe bent around the back of the engine from servo to vac tank. (not pretty) The following winte...
