Re: Acoustic Cameras

the speed cameras also take a short video for several purposes, as the offender you only get the snap shot in the mail. the video/stills and offense are reviewed by a traffic officer before submitting to the courts/DMV before you get your summons. I would imagine this camera works the same. surely i...

Re: Air Conditioning/Engine Heat in Cabin

I second what Angus says, look around the openings where the AC hoses come into the cabin, pack them with something, anything to block heat. and then make sure this front deflector is there, mine was missing and after putting one back on it made a big difference. The exhaust is off in this photo, bu...

pretty sure they were all biscuit. the sides are a pressed board (cardboard) material with the tan colored surface bonded to it. the bottom is a hardura in tan. this is the original trunk setup in my regency red / black 1969 S2. but I could be wrong.. just ask my wife https://i.postimg.cc/SNTvPM6R/t...

I bet if you spray it with a couple coats of black crinkle paint nobody would be the wiser as to it being a reproduction. I have had good luck with the VHT brand in the past.

Re: Stripped Exhaust flange thread. Can it be repaired with a Helicoil?

I installed two of those "repair" studs from XKs myself. I just drilled and tapped the holes to the new size. they work like a champ. after re-reading, I think I understand its one of those repair holes that has already stripped out again? if so I would do as Peter says, not sure I would drill an ev...

Re: Protecting bonnet louver paint

The subject of ceramic coatings has been covered many times on various club forums. I've yet to see a conclusion that they live up to their claims but good luck. Tim I dont know about the 40-50 PERCENT claimed, BUT, on my 69 S2 I did have the stock manifolds Jet Hot-ed and with no other changes to ...

Re: Sidelights not working - advice needed

what year car? if its a series 2 they were just reflectors until a mid point of production, not sure exactly when offhand. late 69, 0r around 1R11052 from my notes if all four are not working then I am guessing you have a car with only reflectors. if they remove a lens they will see there is no bulb...

Re: New car, Where to start?

well, honestly , why not just make sure its roadworthy and drive it as it was made? nothing wrong with the mods you suggest, but I sure wouldnt let an upgrade get in the way of just putting a big smile on your face. I have a 69 S2 with the 3.54 and the two Stroms. sure an extra gear or lower diff ra...

Re: FUEL FILTER

just an FYI. if you are talking about the C28080 style modern replacement filters they fill from the inside and therefore all the crud will never be visible from the glass bowl. do some searches and you will find replacements that mimc the original style, for Ex. a Wix 33034. (assuming you have a S1...

Re: Recommended Spin On Oil Filter Adapter?

Personally I like the original setup. filters are dirt cheap if you look around. the key is practice. it can be frustrating the first few times. but once you learn it takes the skinny o-ring and learn to use a couple small flat blade screwdrivers to coax it into the groove its not too bad. my other ...

I think a nice baseball glove colored brown will look great with your red choice.
I have seen pictures with contrasting piping that didnt look too bad. although I am not for a big contrast, so it depends on the colors

well if it is any consolation , mine does the same thing. new top new seal, but it still makes me laugh because each time the wipers sweep up the windscreen they just push the next wave in on my lap! someone on here came up with using a bicycle tire inner tube cut to length and then sealed at both e...

Re: no power to fuel pump

I is just a connection from the dash wiring to the harness that runs to a few things on the right side and down along the sill to the back and pump. I cant recall off the top of my head if there are two or three whites joined there, I would pull them all out, make sure they are clean with a little s...

Re: no power to fuel pump

its a white wire that picks up off fuse 6, but it doesnt actually go thru the fuse. the white wire goes over to a bullet connector over by the glove box under the dash before heading back to the pump. You might look there for white wires in a rubber bullet plug. check the connections there.

Re: 1969 E Type Series 2 fuses are smoking hot

Fuse #6 is a busy fuse in the Series 2. your best bet is to find the schematic at learn what should be coming off that fuse, yes you could isolate things like the fans and run a fused wire just for them, but fans shouldnt be running all the time, so I doubt thats the trouble, and if the in-op fan wa...
