Yes Mich,
Some of my French Cousins from Limoux completed it a few years ago in a GTL.
It was excellent. Best car for the job.

Re: Thoughts on buying an E-Type
I've got an old Renault I put a chassis under too! Still has its original paint. There was no rust on the body but the chassis was shot. https://i.postimg.cc/02DqxySK/Whats-App-Image-2024-05-14-at-08-19-18-0dbe361a.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/0jtKy0FZ/Whats-App-Image-2024-05-14-at-08-18-40-d9759d71.jpg

Re: Prop shaft doesn't fit through the tunnel!!??
I wonder if your car has had any transmission tunnel/floor welding done? It is quite easy to weld a tunnel in a bit too narrow.

Re: Thoughts on buying an E-Type
I have spent the last 35 years advising people and companies how to spend their money and what assets to buy. I used to read just about every financial periodical going and listen to the news religiously, looking for pointers to what will happen next. My conclusion is - no one has a clue what will h...

Have a quick look at the oil levels in the carbs.
You might be missing some.

Re: Scraping Sound from rear wheel s1 fhc
Also worth checking that the rear shock absorbers are not moving around and interfering with the rotating driveshaft. I had this once when a PO assembled them without all the spring perches/dust covers. The shocks were not centered or held firm within the springs properly. Sounded like a steam train ...

Re: Series 1 bonnet fitting
Hello Geoff, No I didn't find any change in the gap. Bare shell or with running gear, Even with running gear in the car and lifting it off the ground by the bulkhead and the rear trailing arm mounts, with all 4 wheels off the ground, no change in the gap. All the cars I have done this to have been s...

Re: Series 1 bonnet fitting
No, you do not have to heat it. You clamp the wire into the desired position then use a hammer and dolly to beat the outer skin over. It does sound more difficult than it is it is practice. Depends on your experience. However there is another way. You can cut the whole bottom of the bonnet including...

Re: Will Lucas 39415 Ignition switch fit S2?
Yes, I have and it worked fine. I burnt the original one out 7 years ago by running an ecu through it. Too many amps for the switch. Discovered the problem when the barrier raised into the Channel Tunnel and the car wouldn't start with 100 cars behind me, returning from Europe. Wasn't sure the car w...

Re: Series 1 bonnet fitting
So your bonnet is high on the right hand side of the car. How is the bonnet to sill gap in this position? If your bonnet to sill gap is wide, the bonnet has to come down more. If your bonnet is touching the sill, you need to think about rolling the wire edge of the bonnet up, to allow the bonnet to ...

Re: Frame rails and picture window interior coating options
I mean 4x 5 liter tins will be enough to protect the whole car. This is generally the inner sills, rear wheel arch/quarter join, inner bulkhead cavities, frame rails, rear chassis legs, inner rear bulkhead void, boot seams and strengthening panels, floor supports and cross-member. All the bits you c...

Re: Frame rails and picture window interior coating options
You wax inject them at 100 psi after the final paint has 100% cured. Same with all the other box sections on the car. Use a proper automotive product such as Waxoyl which doesn't melt in heat and drip, smell or stain. This is acquired from you local paint factors. You need the correct gun and probe....

Re: I'm not sure if these are sold in the UK....
As Angus says, just get Radtek to chuck the bits you need in the box. They are well priced. They also do a good S1 header tank, with brackets and a range of steel and alloy fuel tanks including an option for in-tank hp fuel pumps for fuel injection. As you say, best to fit the fan behind the radiator.

Re: 3.8 Engine Damper Alternatives
Thanks for the input.
I think I will try a 4.2 balancer and see what happens.
The rest of the rotating assembly is off to be balanced next week anyway, so I will add this into the mix.
It is amazing what a difference having it all balanced prior to assembly makes to the smoothness of it all.

3.8 Engine Damper Alternatives
The 3.8l engine damper is like a dinner plate-almost the diameter of a 45 single.
The 4.2l damper has a much smaller diameter.
Anyone know if a 4.2l crank damper will fit a 3.8 engine? This is so I can attach a normal size trigger wheel.
Or will this mess up the harmonics?
James

Re: Mangoletsi throttle pedal assembly
I have usen the Mangoletsi assembley, it is great but it is expensive. Being about unobtainable does not help either. More recently I have used this £90 Sytec duel cable assembly, for rally cars. That is well built too. https://i.postimg.cc/C5HgDCNB/Sytec.jpg You could mount the cable end on a brack...

Re: Seam sealer: how many cartridges?
Yes Phillippe.
That sealer looks like it is there to hide something.
I am just about to seal a bare body tub. I reckon it will take me most of a day.
You will use much less if you just try and fill in the gaps.
