Re: Car fails on full throttle

I put the gauge between the filter and the carbs. The filter is new, the tank is new, the carbs are too! Might take the filter out of the bowl. The line looks OK and is new. Nothing I can see. Might have to blow down it see if their is resistance. I get 4psi then, with a few revs it drops right down...

Car fails on full throttle

Evening Gents, I was testing a 4.2 on Sunday and it kept packing up! Looking for opinions prior to digging in at the weekend. I starts and drives well, smooth and powerful. Sounds perfect. However when large throttle openings are used, it goes onto 5 cylinders, then 2, then stops. So you pull over, ...

Re: 2 post v Scissor lift

Also the exhaust and gearbox i...

Re: Sherwood green on the E type

Hello Christopher,
I will take some more pictures in direct sunlight of the same car.
It is surprising what a difference it makes to the shade!

Re: Sherwood green on the E type

Remembered I had a few Sherwood Green E type pictures, seemed a shame not to post them. Try a few different light angles.

The XK engine can be difficult to bring to life at all from cold unless you have full choke.

I would check the jets are dropping all the way on the cable.

Re: Reproduction or reissue....

I painted a gearbox cover I had lying around. Couldn't find the cards.

Gunmetal on the left as you look at it, Battleship on the right.

Battleship is really dark.

Re: Reproduction or reissue....

I have some rectangular spray out cards somewhere with Jaguar OPG,OSG,Battleship and Sherwood green, all done recently. If I can find them I will try and post a comparative photo for opinions. The problem is I think I put then in a book case with well over 600 books in it! Maybe I will ask a friend ...

Re: Reproduction or reissue....

Fantastic. Hope they sell every one for the asking prices. I want to know what "flat out grey " is. It looks just like Jaguar Battleship grey to me which is a Jaguar color of the period, non metallic, but was never an official E type color. Bit like Porsche Slate Grey. Is this a flat color ? Anyone ...
