Hi Steve.... I did think that but always checked and topped up if necessary? It's only a drip now and again.... I have already changed the sump gasket once but didn't put any sealant on it didn't really think it would be necessary but wish I had now (belt and braces) got to do all over again now. Des.

How many positions do u have on your gear lever...D for auto gear change or you can select a gear and drive it like a manual car....1 to start...2 to change up to 2nd.....D to change up to 3rd Hi Steve.... sorry yes I have D.... 1 and 2..... Hi Des.....to tell what ratio diff u have look at the rear cover plate on the diff...at about the 6 o/c position a small lable/metal tag with the ratio stamped on it.....or jack up rear and count how many turns of prop to turn road wheel once......however.....look at the service manual auto gearbox...

Hi all.... not asked a question for a while so here goes.... (hope someone can help) no doubt someone can.... I'm not sure if my 3 speed auto. box is going in to top gear? What would anybody think the revs. should be at 60mph? my rev. counter at 60mph. is about 2500rpm. is this about right? :helpsos...

I am putting a personal plate on a US import Mercedes. Any car more than 40 years old needs an MOT for first UK registration, after that it is exempt. It is more to check the headlight direction and other lights and things. Yes I thought that too but they sent me my log book through without a MOT C...

Hi I'm glad to help but still scratching my head about having to have an MOT now!!!! When I didnt before to be able to transfer my private registration onto the car I am confused about that I might phone the DVLA tomorrow.

Hi Tim no I sent all my documents through last week for the second time with everything they asked for No photo copies this time.... and today I got my new log book with the new registration on it so no I did not need to send a MOT certificate at all hope this helps? Cheers.... Des.

HI.... everyone it's all good now I got my new registration plate and log book today but I want to put on my personal registration plate so when I tried to do it online they said I can't change it unless I've got an MOT certificate that bit I don't understand because I don't need an MOT it is over 4...

From experience with the ZF 5HP24 box from my XJ8, to get rid of all the ultrafine debris you have to dismantle the gearbox, clean it manually (and overhaul it in due course) and get a new torque converter and oil cooler. You cant really clean the converter without cutting it open. In case the gear...

All I can think of really is to change it a couple of times or suck out from the dipstick tube a couple of litres every so often and replace it so you get most of the fluid changed.
