Re: Changing Automatic Transmission Fluid

From experience with the ZF 5HP24 box from my XJ8, to get rid of all the ultrafine debris you have to dismantle the gearbox, clean it manually (and overhaul it in due course) and get a new torque converter and oil cooler. You cant really clean the converter without cutting it open. In case the gear...

Re: Changing Automatic Transmission Fluid

All I can think of really is to change it a couple of times or suck out from the dipstick tube a couple of litres every so often and replace it so you get most of the fluid changed.

Re: Revotec Twin Fan Set Up Problem

Thanks Marek....

1. Maybe I'll up the cut in temp a little.... and try that 1st....
2. I think the stock fuse for the stock rads. is a 35 amp fuse.... maybe if No.1 doesn't work I'll slowly up the the fuse size.

Hi everyone I'm having trouble with my Revotec Fans I bought from Moss Classic Car Parts Group.... Re: Rear Brake Bleeding 1971 Series 3 V12

Re: Rear Brake Bleeding 1971 Series 3 V12

I recently re-commissioned an S3 for a friend. This job entailed removing and overhauling the brake calipers. Most of the brake fluid ran out of the master and servo cylinders (which were both still good). Once all the hardware was mounted, I started the bleeding process using my trusted method of ...

Re: Rear Brake Bleeding 1971 Series 3 V12

Hi Des, This is not uncommon when changing the Servo as I had exactly the same problem. If you have access to a 'pressure system' such as the Gunson Easibleed it makes this very easy as it pushes the fluid through the system from the reservoir to the rear brakes. Without it you will get exactly wha...

Re: Rear Brake Bleeding 1971 Series 3 V12

Hi Des....are you just re topping up the existing fluid..or replaceing all of it....thinking you may have dirt in there blocking the pipes a bit.....or possibly the rear flexi pipe collapsing inside...it has happened before acting as a kind of valve....so as you pressure the system the pipe collaps...
