Just removed my tank as well. Its being cleaned and treated as we speak. Lots of contaminants. I'm definitely not looking forward to the re-install.

Hi Gary,

It seems to be short. I was told it was a Series 3 cover but I think not.
Its made out of sheetmetal which I guess is a plus for a earlier car.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a "Gearbox tunnel cover" for a 4 spd ?
I prefer a sheetmetal version if such a version exists .

The vehicle also has "Air Con" if that is a issue,

Hi Mark,
The wire was already disconnected. I am trying to locate its connection point...if it has any. At some time in its past ,a previous owner did some "work" behind the gauges and switches. I'd like to know what this wire is for ( green-fuse-white).

Well, I checked the wires at the "demister/defroster" switch both are present/connected and there is power to the switch as well as to the rear windscreen heating element......Looks like the search continues.......

Yes Sir,
There is a heating element in the rear windscreen hatchback. I will check for power at the switch and element with a volt/ohm meter. Hopefully this will solve the issue. We shall see.
