Re: How do I change the headlamps on my series 1 E-Type?

This is very helpful advice, thank you. I do have a follow up question if I may? Only the dip beam on one side (left) is not working. Both main beams are working. It seems (from looking at the part I have fitted: JLM 9609) that there is only one bulb for both dip and main beam. In this case, it can’...

Re: How do I change the headlamps on my series 1 E-Type?

Sorry, ignore my last reply. I think we are talking about the same thing. Just to double check one more time, however, is it not possible to remove the lights from inside the bonnet thus avoiding touching the chrome at all?

Re: How do I change the headlamps on my series 1 E-Type?

Thanks so much for the very prompt replies but what you’re describing doesn’t sound like the lights on my car. I have the covered lights, for which the glass is secured with a chrome bevel held on by 6 screws...

How do I change the headlamps on my series 1 E-Type?

Hello all, I have a LHD ‘67 series 1 E-Type roadster with covered headlights. One of the dipped beams has failed although both main beams still work. I guess I need to change a bulb or if the headlight is a sealed unit then change the whole thing. My question is how do I get at the headlamps? I’m to...

Re: Opalescent Golden Sand... would anyone repaint an E-Type in this colour?

Hi All, I'm not sure if anyone is still paying attention to this post but in case you are, I thought I'd send an update. I decided to take your advice and keep the car in her original spec. She has just come out of the paint shop resplendent in a new coat of OGS. Hopefully you can all see the photo ...

Re: New to the forum and looking (dreaming) of an E-Type

Hi Will, I'm half way through having my e-type fully restored so have recently had to consider all the issues you are now dealing with. Based on your budget, you will most likely have to buy a car in need of quite a lot of work. A professional restorer will quote for at least 1,000 hours or work for...

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to respond. I still want a dark blue car with red leather but I think I'll just have to make that the next project...

Opalescent Golden Sand... would anyone repaint an E-Type in this colour?

Dear Forum, I have just begun the process of restoring my series I E-Type roadster (1E 15392). The car is not a total wreck but there is enough rot from a decade or two of standing idle to justify a full engine-out restoration. A full nut and bold job puts me in the enviable position of being able t...
