Re: classicfabs exhaust system
Have now had fitted the 4 pipe system minus manifold from Classicfabs and am very pleased , sounds fantastic and looks great , have my old system on the sale/wanted area.
Re: Tyres
For insurance purposes you have to fit z rated tyres to an S3 , which makes it expensive to buy these tyres !
Re: Tyres
So 215 will fit on these wheels , is that the widest that will fit ? The high cost of these tyres seems to be all down to z rating .
Tyres
Just had a few quotes for z rated 205/70/15's and the Avon CR28's come out cheapest but still £246 each . Anyone had any lower figures .....

Re: V12 engine development explained by Hassan & Mundy
Yes , spotted the utube clip a few months back and have been interested to read about the history of the development of this engine in the e type magazine . Nice to know it was the engine used to develope the Jaguar Le Mans v12 winner .

classicfabs exhaust system
Anyone purchased the classicfabs v12 exhaust system , the sound and power increase look very interesting , ok its going to cost more than a standard system but that doesn't give those improvements as the sound is a little bit quiet !

Re: Insurance values?
Evening all. My renewal will be due soon and I'm contemplating increasing the sum insured, currently set at £40,000. Looking on-line there's not too many cars for sale at that price level that I'd consider were as useable as our old girl which has 90k miles on the clock, is a UK car, has an advisor...

Re: Finally got one!!
Hello all, after many years of wanting an E Type but always finding reasons not to buy one I have finally taken the plunge with a 1974 V12 2+2 in old English white arrived last weekend in pretty good condition, drives great but only starts up when it feels like! Sure I will be seeking lots of advic...

Re: Heritage Throttle body injection
Reprogrammable ECU is the translation of 'megasquert' , which is the same as any other re programmable ECU eg Emerald or MBE which are trade names . The point is that ECU's are better at running engines than no ECU which is e-types with original spec carbs etc and putting throttle bodies on instead ...

Re: Heritage Throttle body injection
I am sorry if you thought I said that throttle bodies are boring... I was saying that the sterile, predictable, relentless relaibility of modern cars is what I find boring, I'm sure a V12 on throttle bodies with fuel injection is faster, more responsive, and more frugal than one on carbs. But I did...

Re: Heritage Throttle body injection
No one with any experience would ever say throttle bodies are boring , very very few if any modern cars have TB's fitted as standard unless they are very special as cars have single point injection which is a tad boring but generally cheap compared to TB's. Most race cars have TB's by the way which ...

The v12 was originally designed to have injection . If you want to keep the four Stombergs then fine .
