In your initial post, you said:

Re: C7493 Gearbox spacer

The original posting referenced in post #2 by Steve was mine. I made two errors (I fat-fingered a couple of numbers while using the numeric keypad on my laptop). Here is my correction that I posted about 6 entries below my original: QUOTE The average thickness of the 5 spacers = 0.2818 (between 9/19...

Re: S3 Heater Install

Holger Thanks for the kind words and continued interest in my effort. Back in October I ran into two major issues that necessitated a tactical pause: 1) I was nearly 100% through my budget but only 85-90% of the way through my restoration. Needed to slow down the spending and get caught up financial...

Re: S3 Heater Install

Ooops - one more item You're gonna find that the heater box is heavy. You'll need this bracket to help support the weight(both parts of the bracket are available at SNG Barratt) https://i.postimg.cc/pVBKQQFR/20240219-120631.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/JzvgQCkw/20210429-141618.jpg / https://i.postimg.cc...

Re: S3 Heater Install

Gordon You need to understand one more "hole". That additional hole is at 9 o'clock to the rectangular opening for the heater and i's larger than the 4x holes for the mounting bolts for the heater box. This hole is for the two cables that attach to the heater box - one controls the flap (to open/clo...

I had been searching oil drain plug not sump plug
Provided you know the precise terms on which to search.
It took seconds for me to post a direct response to the OP's original question

Durango What I believe you are talking about is hydrogen embrittlement. I don't know the science behind it but the items need to be heated to several 100 degrees for several hours. I believe William Angel can best describe / explain the requirements /impacts -- but I don't know if he regularly frequ...

Re: Restoration finish of suspension wishbones

I'm coming to this party a little late an my references are based in the States, but I had my front suspension components cadmium plated. I used Warner Propeller and Governor out of Tucson AZ. The aircraft industry has high standards for plating (of any type) and Brooke enjoys supporting the hot rod...

They are an unusual screw/bolt available at Barratt's
They are very pound of them

I doubt you'd find a local substitute locally

Paddy Any luck in finding the replacement part(s)? I decided to replace my door handles in toto.I sent them out to be chromed and the shop dismantled the plunger mechanisms on both. I was unsuccessful in correctly reassembling them; I believe all bits and parts are there. If you think these would he...

Re: S3 Decals and positions - UK spec 2+2

I was looking for something else and stumbled on another decal. This one is rarely seen cuz it is on the heater fan motor which is attached to the bottom of the heater matrix -- see photo. If you look at my first photo (with the array of decals I have collected), this one is not in the mix. It is to...

Paddy

Is this the part you are looking for?

https://www.terrysjag.com/product/9601.html

I know (believe?) SNG Barratt carries them too (I ordered from them back in summer) -- but I couldn't find them on their web-site.
