Re: Powerlite starter motors
Hi all, I too fitted this starter and quickly realised it wasn’t going to work without some fettling. These are the problems, 1. Original spacer must be removed for the reasons already stated 2. The alignment dowels must be ground back not removed. If you remove them the hole is to big for the bolts...

Series 2 window Regulator Channel
Hi Sage Ones,
Having difficulty getting a regulator channel for my series 2 FHC. Anyone know if the 4.2 series 1 will fit?
Regards, Pete

Re: Diffs and Brakes
Hi Martin/jerome, The pictures I've been showing are largely for reference. For instance that pic of the left rear quarter was taken because I had to do so much work on it. Water had got into the fuel filler box rotted through and into the wing. I made a new fuel box and had to creat a wing repaire ...

Re: Diffs and Brakes
Hi Malcom/Ralph, I really didn't think anyone would be interested. I only put some pics on because I noticed those posts tend to get a reply. Which I still haven't got! Any way here's another before and after pic. The colour is opalescent silver blue which doesn't really show up very well in pics bu...

Re: Diffs and Brakes
Hi Steve, I removed six rats nests three of which came out of the front bulkhead! Rat pee is very corrosive. I removed large areas of the box sections and remade the rotten panels. Gaining access to these areas usually requires additional damage, cutting away good metal. Fortunately there wasn't muc...

Hi, 1000 hours of welding and metal fab plus 300 hours of prep and five minutes spraying. Diffs and Brakes
Hi Sage ones, My winter project on the S2 is to rebuild the irs. To that end I acquired a 3.07 PL diff and brakes from what I suspect was an XJ6. The hand brake is cable operated and looks much better than the strange contraption normally fitted. My question is, is it possible to use this hand brake...

Gearbox Bench Testing
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that could bench test my gearbox before I install it. All the usual checks seem to show its in good order but it would be nice to be sure.

S1 Inlet Manifold
Hi Sage Ones,
Could anyone advise if a series one inlet manifold and carbs will fit a series two? I'm guessing not but would just like to check.

Re: S1 Steering Column into S2
Hi julienne,
Many thanks for the reply. I don't suppose you remember what a 'tidy' price the S2 columns you sore were? Something that rare usually attracts big bucks. I am planning a parts bagging trip to stoneleigh in October, looking forward to it.

S1 Steering Column into S2
Hi Guys, My latest project ( S2 short wheelbase fhc) arrived minus the complete steering column. S2 columns seem to be quite rare so I've decided to use the adjustable column from a series 1. Looking at the pics on the SNG Barrett site the pivot bracket 38 has four holes whereas the S2 has only two....
