Re: Series 1 bonnet fitting
Hallo, my Etype is bare metal at the moment. After the stripping the body had not really a straight line at the side, but now after several hours of bodywork it has starting at the rear wheel arch to the end of the A panel a straight line. The bonnet is new and has no good fit to the car. Curently i...

Re: Glas tint S1 FHC
Hi Steve,
thanks for the hint. The clear glass has all the same manufacturing coding 4th quarter of 1963 and my car was build in December. The tinted glass is not clearly identifyable, the month is the same as for the clear glass but the year coding is not defined for the SUNDYM logo.

Re: Bumper fixing internal - external stainless - chrome
Hi Paul,
Did your car had holes on the rear for fixing the bumpers simmilar to my car as you can see on the fotos or have there been welded bolds on the chassi or how does the fixing look like on the chassi for external fixing?
Chris

Bumper fixing internal - external stainless - chrome
Hi, is there a clear way finding out if the E Type had internal or external fixing of the bumpers originally? On my one there had only been bumpers on the rear with internal fixing (screw from the inside and thread on the bumper). The car had minimum one repainting and the fixing was not made with s...

Re: Engine mounting
Thanks, i found the right one at SNG they look different to my one. The installed engine is not from an E Type but came with the original one beside. The installed engine is newer than the car maybe from an xj.

Engine mounting
Hi, the disassembly of my FHC is ongoing. Next is coming the rear axle and Engine. In the moment in the car there is installed a 4.2l engine instead of the original 3.8l Engine. As you can see on the picture there is a cutout on the reactionplate for the supporting bracket of the clutch housing. The...

Re: Series 1 FHC project
The decision of the colour is not made, I think i can take some time for this  Opalescent maroon is not bad but would not be my favorit. It will be in this colour if i come to the conclusion to keep it original... If i take a free choise it will be gunmetal grey, racing green or dark blue I ...

Series 1 FHC project
Hi, i am Chris from germany. I bought a 1963 FHC as a restauration project. The car was delivered to the USA and imported to Germany in 1990 standing most of the time in a garage after a small accident on the bonnet. I did not find a lot of rust until now, the plan is to strip it down completely to ...
