Fitting inertia real seat belts
I suspect this question has been asked many time before. How easy is it to replace the static belts in a Series 2 OTS with inertia real type? Can the existing holes be used? What brand is recommended?

Too good to be true?
I recently put my lovely E Type up for sale, a red Series 2 Roadster DAD690G on PistonHeads, & Classic Cars for Sale. I almost immediately got the offer of the asking price from a Matthew Fisher, fishingmatt62@gmail,com. He wanted a Bill of Sale even before purchase! Anyone shed light on this 'buyer...

Re: Series 1 2+2 values
So what is a good price for private sale for a series 2 roadster in concours condition, rebuilt 100 miles ago? I bet the answers range from £80K to £195K. I don't include those Eagle prices. I suppose at the end of the day it is down to what someone will pay, so that means don't start low. https://s...

Re: Current values
Julian very true. That is why I bought a 'restored' car. I assumed £5K would be enough to sort a few bits out. Unfortunately, the whole restoration was not to my standard and I had to add oodles of TLC. Furthermore, a few bits had been done on the cheap and thus detracted from what I wanted. Now I'm...

Re: Current values
Well sadly I paid £100K for a reasonable car and then spent £50K making it just about perfect. Not sure though I would get £150K for my 'as new' Series 2 Roadster, matching numbers and heritage cert. One valuation was £100K, another (who did not want it) suggested £150K. Insurance agreed at £125K, b...

As stated here, prices are all over the place. I suppose that is partly due to the fact that there are many variants of E Type for sale, from flat floor Roadster to automatic Series 3 2+2. I'm told by one dealer recently, rather rudely, that E Type values have 'gone down the toilet'. Whereas I don't...

Re: Asking price record?
E Type magazine guidelines are base on action prices. Totally different. Actually, E Type prices depend on many things, not least what someone is prepared to spend. 2+2 appear to be worth less than Coupes which are worth less than Roadsters. Series 1 fetches more than Series 2 which fetches more tha...

Cold starting problem
My Series 2, running on triple SUs has just had a total engine rebuild, fitting of 123 electronic ignition and a good rolling road tune. It starts beautifully second time of the day (hot or cold), but first time it coughs, and stops about 5 times after turning the key, no matter where the throttle i...

What BHP do most people get on a rolling road with a normal tuned UK 4.2 engine with triple SUs ?

Jaguar v Jaguar
Hi all, I possible am the only one here to drive a Jaguar down the A5 thro Wales over 700 mph. Short pause before anyone calls me a liar or mad :) But it is true. I'm also the proud owner of a very beautiful Series 2 Roadster which restoration will be finished very soon. Which Jaguar do I like best?...

Cost of respray
Just watched 'Wheeler Dealers' refurbish a Mustang during which they resprayed a it for £2000. My question, what should I expect to pay for decent external, same colour, respray, assuming doors, boot lid and bonnet off, but wheels & engine etc stay on. Very little rust and hardly any filling or weld...
