Hi Yves......possibly you dont remove the circlip.....maybee open it up and then press out the center part its holding in place......hope that makes sense...Steve

Hi Richard...can you just use the allan key to adjust..(thought i remember you haveing problems useing the adjuster)...a few i have spoken to need to release the tension by disconnection the upper wishbone to be able to adjust their reaction plate...which dosnt make it a simple adjustment....possibl...

Valves and seats do not have to be replaced to run on unleaded fuel.....All XK engins have Alloy heads and hard seats..and need no modification for unleaded fuel...Steve

Hi Graham....as you realise already the speedo is driven by one cable so inconsistancy between trip and odometer will be a problem with the speedo......to check your diff ratio jack up the rear of the car.....turn the i/p shaft (prop) and count the o/p shaft...wheel....for a 3.31 its 3.31 revs in to...

Hi Russ...to keep the gear lever in the correct place if you use an XJ6 gearbox and overdrive you replace the gearbox top cover for an e type one

You will need a new clutch... (pressure plate and drive plate)...a new thrust bearing....and replace the spigot bearing whilst your in there....also check the slave cylinder for leaks etc....depending on condition the flywheel may need resurfacing.......suggest you start a new thread if you need mor...

Hi Darren...considering you engine is a fairly recent rebuild l wouldnt expect it to leak oil unless however it was overfilled.....how much extra are we talking about.....its not uncommon to here on the forum that others who have too much oil also leak and filling with the correct measured amount ha...
