Re: Oh no! Engine frame damage, could it be repaired?

Hi Andrew, You are right on all points. Despite this set back I am still very pleased to be slowly progressing to restore my e type. This was the first surprise during disassembly, there will probably be more. I feel very privileged to own an e type and will spend what is necessary in time and money...

Re: Steering rack series 3

Hi Bob, I found Kiley & Clinton in Birmingham to be very helpful, I called in to see them to discuss switching my rack from LHD to RHD. I will return to them when I’m ready to fit the rack. I was afforded lots of time and guidance an was invited in for a chat at a time when I expect they would have ...

Re: Oh no! Engine frame damage, could it be repaired?

Thank you for your helpful comments, as I thought when I wrote the post I do feel better about the situation today than I did yesterday. I’ve been reading up about Reynolds tubing, pleasantly surprised that they are based only about 20 miles from me in Birmingham. I also read that they did a special...

Oh no! Engine frame damage, could it be repaired?

I’ve spent some time this evening stripping the various items from the engine bay now the engine is out. Horror of horrors I’ve found what looks like jacking damage to both frames where the cross member bolts in. Is any one aware if any of the UK manufactures will repair rather than just sell replac...

What a great video, best wishes to Norman, I’m sure if you can get him in a car at 100 years he will deliver 100 mph.

Thank you for posting

Re: Insurance

I’ve had a good experience with Hagerty, agreed value on a laid up policy, easy to deal with and I felt good value.
I have no connection with them other than a policy holder.

:wavegreatbritain: I’ve always liked the idea of an S3 Rolls to go with my S3 E type. There is is a strong link back to my favourite childhood TV program Thunderbirds with Lady Penolopy and the every cool Parker driving the Rolls.

Re: Centre Arm Rest storage box for series 3 V12

Bob and Yves, Thank you for your contribution. It most helpful to understand that a 2+2 armrest should work for me. Yves my thought was to make an armrest to ordgional size and spec as indeed you have done and may I say yours looks superb. I can now see a clear way forward. Many thanks for everyone’...

Centre Arm Rest storage box for series 3 V12

Hello

My complete centre armrest and storage box is missing!

Are series 2 and series 3 armrests boxes interchangeable? Ie if I fit a series 2 armrest to a series 3 car will it be correct in size and appearance?

Appreciate your assistance

Kind regards

Nick

Re: Oil pressure gauge

Hello Simon, I’ve just recently swooped my nonfunctional oil sender for a new SNG one. It seems on the earlier V12 the sender is very inaccessible, later it was moved to the top of the engine. My method Raise car, remove front wheel, remove the splash guard in front of the vacuum bottle. Not easy bu...

V12 Oil Pressure

Hello, Pleased to report some progress with my V12 1972 LHD import. The body needs some work to make it sound and I will be removing the engine as a part of the process. A few months ago I was pleased with the result of my compression test so today moved on to check out the oil pressure prior to rem...

Re: SNG Barratt

Welcome Julian, Recently whenever I pass through Bridgnorth I have to call in and buy something, always an enjoyable experience. I’m a relatively recent e type owner but my desire to own an e type and interest in them goes back many years. I recall visiting what I think was your business in Trysull ...
