Re: Series 3 Power steering Rack

100% recommendation for Kiley Clinton in Birmingham. I had 2 V12 racks rebuilt, excellent service from a family business.
Roger and Oliver really know their subject and have always offered me a cup or tea when visiting.

Kind regards

Re: Chassis straightening

Hi Bill & Richard,

Thank you for your very helpful replies.

I wanted to add the gussets to ensure the correct appearance.

Seems strange to me that Mr Robey has omitted this feature from the repro panels.

Excellent that I now have a solution.

Thanks again

Hi I thought a photo ( one of Richard’s) would be helpful to support my question above.

Re: Chassis straightening

Hi Richard, Your photos reminded of a question I have regarding replacement Martin Robey floors. On the original floors there are 6 indents spaced along the length of the floor. These are missing from the replacement floors. Has anyone made a tool to replicate the indents? Or come up with a differen...

Re: Starter Motor Heat Shield

Hi Tan, My car is also a US import. My starter motor heat shield is attached to what’s left of the supply pipe from the air pump and also to the bottom corner of the larger exhaust manifold heat shield. Mine looks original but in poor condition. I hope the photos help you. Kind regards Nick https://...

Re: e type Series 3 1972 OEM Steering Rack Value

Hi SNG only seems to offer a refurbishment service for £468.00 but this is on an exchange basis. The Jag Shop has a listing for used LHD Racks for £850.00 but from the photos, these would need to be reconditioned and are out of stock. David Manners & Martin Robey only offer a reconditioning service ...

e type Series 3 1972 OEM Steering Rack Value

Hi, I have a 1972 series 3 e type LHD power steering rack which I would like to sell as it is now surplus to requirements. This is an original OEM rack date stamped 12/01/1972. The rack has just gone through a full refurbishment and check over by steering rack specialist Kiley Clinton in Birmingham ...

I had excellent support from JEC after my first application was rejected.

I was very grateful for their support and worth my membership subs 10 X over.

Re: Series3 LHD to RHD conversion - DIY task?

Hi I have a 1972 LHD e type and would be very interested in exchanging LHD parts for RHD parts. Dash Pannels, steering rack, etc etc. I’m not in any hurry, do get in touch if you are interested in exchanging parts.

Kind regards

Harry’s Garage V12 professional rebuild

It’s not quite e type but I enjoyed Harry Metcalf’s XJ 12 Coupe V12 rebuild and discussion with a Jaguar expert.
Well worth a watch (Harry’s Garage YouTube Channel)

Re: Black flag, or half mast?

My first Good Revival was 2008, a fabulous weekend with friends. I stayed at The Goodwood Hotel. One of the highlights was Murray Walker and Stirling Moss chatting while having breakfast together at the table next to mine. It felt surreal. They were then two elderly gentleman, obviously old pals, en...

Re: V12 Engine Instruction Manual

Hi John, I would also be interested in a basic explanation of the engine management systems. Ive read a lot on this excellent forum but would welcome a ‘ladybird book’ on how the vacuum system works. I’m aiming to put my USA spec to British spec when I get to that point in my restoration and I find ...

Re: Haynes V12 manual

Hi Darren, I don’t think Haynes produced an e type V12 manual, I’ve looked but not found one.

I picked up a copy of the Jaguar Daimler V12 manual and a copy of a period Jaguar V12 engine manual.

Not sure which side of the bet you’re on, I wish you good luck.

Happy new year

Re: Classic Motoring Magazines.

As an S3 2+2 owner, I've always felt at the bottom of the pecking order in e type circles.

Having said that one day my pile of bits in the garage will emerge as a beautiful swan (even if you have to pick your angle to view the car at its best).

Best

Re: Cars of the Netflix Crown

I’ve certainly enjoyed The Crown, including all the beautiful cars and street scenes. I’ve often wondered if all of these ‘props’ sit in a large warehouse somewhere under common ownership or if individual owners make their cars available to the film and TV industry. I imagine that one could place a ...
