Re: Dayton wire wheels S3 roadster

I used Armor All Shield for Wheels which comes in aerosol form so easy to get into all the nooks and crannies of a wire wheel. Nearly 6 months and 2,500 miles later I have not needed any further application as a pre wash squirt with Bilt Hamber wheel cleaner, a go with the wire wheel brush, wash dow...

Re: Dayton wire wheels S3 roadster

I have to stick up for MWS here as I switched a year ago to a brand new stainless steel set (6.0 x 15 72 spoke) shod with Pirelli 205/70WR15 CN12 Cinturato's and have never looked back. They have improved the ride/roadholding/looks over my previous set up and they are surviving the winter very nicel...

Re: Continuous Fan

Also check that a previous owner did not fit a manual override switch somewhere in the cabin as I have seen this done on many a Series 3

Re: Heating and ventilation

Colin that is amazing thank you for the detailed explanation and very helpful photographs :thankyouyellow: - I now have my homework set for the weekend! Just to ensure there is no misinterpretation at my end (I'm clearly light years behind you in understanding these matters) can you confirm your mea...

Re: Heating and ventilation

I really appreciate all the input guys and the photograph in particular is very helpful. What is not helpful on my part (and probably frustrating on yours) is that I did not get chance this weekend to try out any of the suggestions so I'm afraid you are going to have to wait until next weekend for s...

Heating and ventilation

I appreciate this is fairly basic stuff but having established that the dashboard heater controls + cables appear to be operating as they should, the fan works properly and the input hose to the heater unit clearly has hot water in it .......then what is the most likely reason I am unable to get any...

Re: Indicator quandry - sorted it!

Finally got some time to look at this in some detail over the Christmas break and it turns out that issue was a combination of a goosed hazard light relay unit (now replaced) and a poor earth in the front O/S indicator lamp unit. Really appreciate everybody's assistance and in particular to Simon S-...

Re: Indicator quandry

Brief update as only had very limited time this weekend. Now established that the fuse for the hazard switch had blow so replaced that. Flipped the hazard switch on only to establish that all four indicators came on at less than normal brightness and did not flash, this was followed shortly thereaft...

Re: Indicator quandry

ok thanks guys - I was at home briefly last night and (having failed for some reason to check previously) I have established that the hazard lights are also not working so I guess from what you are saying I need to check the switch out this weekend and work back from there?! Thanks for your advice t...

Indicator quandry

Having exhausted my own basic checklist (wiring from steering column switch, both bulbs, fuses etc) I now need to turn to the forum for assistance please. The current situation is that the left indicators work fine and the dash display lights up accordingly but when the indicator stalk is activated ...

Re: Over excited soon to be owner

Well after running the lower octane petrol down and filling up with 98 grade this has made a big difference with much easier starting now when engine hot (happy bunny). Plus from a more detailed investigation the ignition/distributor upgrade has already been done! :bouncyyellow: Confidence in hot st...
